Who Cares?

Have you ever heard of a “worry wart”?  Are you one?  Worrying is so rampant that doctors have come up with a clinical name for it, they call it “anxiety disorder”.  When I was a kid trying to grow up we were told that Russia was planning to “nuke” the United States.  The government encouraged everyone to build a “nuclear fallout shelter” and stock it with food and water.  My beloved Catholic church told us that the virgin Mary appeared to three kids and gave them a prayer tool they call the “rosary”.  If Catholics would pray this prayer of vain repetition often enough God would stop Russia from sending nuclear bombs.  A lot of people prepared “fallout shelters” because they were worried sick.  God has a different way for His people to deal with “anxiety” and “worrying”.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful (care-full) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your   requests be made known unto God.

Jesus said that no man can add even one hour to his life by worrying.  Worrying about things you have no control over is a complete waste of time.  Being full of cares is a human tradition, there are books out that teach you how to worry in the parameters of human thought.  God tells us not to worry at all but roll all our cares over on Him, and then take His Word to pray.  God is volunteering to take the responsibility of all our cares and anxiety, but even His willingness to help offers a problem!  No man can trust God with any of his problems until he first trusts God.  If you don’t trust God you will worry about Him doing the right thing.

2 Corinthians 10:5 We must cast down every thought that is contrary to God’s holy Word, and bring every thought before God for scrutiny.

The devil has the ability to put his thoughts and ideas into our mind and if we yield to them he can exert control over our lives.  But we have the power to determine what we will think and act on, I don’t think that many people know this.  Kenneth Hagin said it like this, “We can’s stop birds from flying over our heads but we can stop them from building nests in our hair”.  God has given all His people the right to have a sound mind, the ability to determine what they choose to think.  I saw a bumper sticker once that said: I hear the little voices and I do what they tell me.  I think the devil was the author of that one, most folks don’t care where the thoughts come from, they like the power.

Psalm 37:5 Roll the care of your ways (life) onto the Lord, trust also in Him; and He will bring it to pass.

Some Christians don’t trust the Lord with their lives, they don’t think He will tend to things the way they want Him to.  But if we trust the Lord, then we know He can make things better than what we had planned.  How can you trust in the Lord and then worry about how He will tend to your business?  Rolling all of your cares over onto the Lord begins with a commitment, you must never pull away from.  The more you do it the more confident you become and the more successful you become.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
