Who are you?

The source of your life is the spirit that is in you, the spirit is the real you.  When Jesus was on the cross He gave up the Ghost, the Spirit and when He did He died.  God is the Father of all spirits and all spirits begin in heaven.  The spirit in you originated with God.  He knew exactly what He was doing when He made you a spirit.  You were created by Him for a specific reason and purpose.

Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

God made every person for a specific reason.  No one is here by accident.  God knows more about you than you ever will.  When you try to live as something God never intended for you to be, that’s when frustration and depression sets in.  It is not hard living to be yourself but living as something you were not created to be invites all kinds of issues.  I have no doubt I’m living in the purpose for which I was created.  I don’t envision myself being anything else, I am content and happy to be who I am.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do.

The devil has never given up on being the lord of God’s creation.  He still works in the hearts of ignorant men.  People act like the devil all the time and no one seems to notice.  They don’t pay much attention until they get saved and begin to act “funny”, then they notice.  In the world it’s more normal for people to act like the devil than like a child of God.  The Christians are the “weirdos”, they are the ones who buck the system and act out.

1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has  bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God.

Let’s take this Scripture and combine it with the previous Scripture and reverse it.

You are of your Father almighty God, and the love of your Father you will do.

This is not conducive to the conduct of the world.  You are of another spirit not common to most men.  It is a rare person indeed who consistently acts like Christ all the live long day.  Who are you?  You can be whoever you want to be but if you’re not a child of God, you’re a child of the devil and the lusts of your father you will do.  One day Jesus went into the local church to preach and they handed Him a book.  He read from the book of Isaiah where it talked about the Messiah being anointed to get people free.

Luke 4:20 Then He closed the book and sat down, He said today this Scripture is fulfilled.

If you read this entire account you see that Jesus found Himself in the Bible.  Every man ever born of a woman is in the book somewhere.  It’s our responsibility to find ourselves in the book.  Then you will have no doubt who God says you are.  This is when your life truly begins.  I found myself on both sides of the cross.  I found myself when I was a sinner and when I was made a saint.  I went to the cross and met Jesus and when I looked back I didn’t know myself any longer.  I act so much like Christ the devil doesn’t even recognize me.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
