where is the blessing?

Abraham and his descendants had access to the blessing under the law.  Jesus fulfilled the law, so what has become of God’s blessing?

Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Abraham was blessed because he was faithful (obedient), so faith has something to do with obedience.  The blessing that was spoken over Adam and then reiterated to Abram has been offered to the church of Jesus Christ.  There is only one blessing that covers five elements of life.

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, cursed is everyone on a tree.

Christ has redeemed us.  Who is us?  These are the people who choose to live by faith.  These people believe God despite not being able to see or touch God.  They are obedient to God’s Word, they do not require only tangible evidence.  Born-again Christians are the recipients of every aspect of God’s blessing.  If a Christian believes God’s Word then he can believe for the blessing every day of the world.  Religion has done a good job of teaching folks how to walk in false humility.  My pastor loved to quote what the Roman Centurion said to Jesus:

Lord I am not worthy that You should come under my roof.

Well, I have a Scripture that puts the centurion’s quote to rest once and for all.  When you get born-again Jesus comes to dwell in your heart, so forget the roof thing.  The Jews considered the Romans to be dogs and were not worthy of entering a Jews house.  Jesus didn’t care about the man’s title, He was willing to go to his home despite the Jews home made rule.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

God promised Abraham He would bless all the families through him.  God gave us the gift of eternal life and the grace that changes a man from the inside out.  Adam’s father was our father the devil, grace supernaturally severed the ties we had with the devil and connected us to Christ.  Now we are as Adam was before he sinned, we have a right to the same blessing God spoke over him.  So, how do we get blessed?  By faith!  We must believe that Jesus gave up His life in order to restore the blessing and image or God.

Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us up with benefits.

The word benefits are rewards, we can call them blessings and remain Scriptural.  Notice how often God will bless us every day.  If you believe God’s Word then you should look to be blessed every day of your life.  He said He would bless us in the city and the field, that is the only two places in the world, in town and out of town.  Where is your blessing?  It’s in Christ waiting to overtake you, get ready, your blessings are here.
