whatcha havin?

If you listen to a person talk, in a little while you can locate them spiritually.  Spiritual maturity is determined by what we say in the course of our daily conversation.  My mother taught me an old cliché years ago, sticks and stones may break my bones but words don’t harm me.  This phrase was obviously coined by a person who knows nothing about living by faith.

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God.

God created the worlds, the ones we can see and the ones we cannot see.  He exercised His Word to create the worlds exactly how He wanted them, then He gave man dominion over them, but man obeyed the voice of a serpent and he opened the door to God’s archenemy, the devil.  Today we live in a fallen world that must deal with the curse all the live long day.  But we have a choice, we can let the devil frame our world or we can become proactive.  We can take God’s Word and frame our own world, God is offering us a custom made life.  We are the prophet, the architect of our own life.  So, whatcha havin?

Mark 11:24 What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.

One day the Lord spoke this to Charles Capps “I told My people they could have what they say but they been saying what they have”.  The kingdom of God functions by the laws God gave us, consequently words matter.  Faith filled words dominate the law of sin and death.  The devil came to steal, kill and destroy, Jesus came to give us a life better than we have ever dreamed of.  God does not give us what He thinks is best for us.  He gives us what we say.  Why can’t God just give us only good things?  He certainly wants to but He is bound by the laws He created.  These laws are for our benefit.  We must speak the devil out and God in, it’s not up to God, it’s up to us.  Once you learn and understand the laws of God you can use them to your advantage and disappoint the devil.

James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing.  My brothers, these things ought not so to be.

It would be so convenient if we had two mouths, then we could permanently disable the one that speaks curses.  God gave every man one mouth and the choice to speak whatsoever we choose.  A mature Christian can bridle his tongue and commit to speaking only words that bless.  Can you imagine what kind of life you would have if you spoke words of edification only?  We will always have today what we spoke yesterday and tomorrow we will have what we say today.  In order to be successful we must be totally conscious of every word that we allow to come out of our pie hole.

This is not a play on words, we are to speak the Word the Lord has already established.  “But I didn’t mean to say that”.  Well, it doesn’t matter, you will have what you say, not what you meant to say.  Living by faith is not a game, it’s a matter of life and death.  Our words will activate God or the devil, one brings life and one brings death.  Whatcha havin?
