what thinketh thou?

Whatever you think you will ultimately speak and what you say you will have.  We could make you a small booklet of things to say that are good and wholesome, but if you don’t believe them you will not have them.  Whatever our source of information that we give ourselves to hear will become our thoughts.

If you want to be a failure then study after failures, if you want to be successful then study after successful people.

Whatever I endeavor to do, whether it be golf, trap shooting or a student of God’s Word, I also seek out people who know more than I do.  There are a lot of folks who are far more knowledgeable than I am.  Without humility you will never find these people and we must always remain humble and never forget those who help us.

Proverbs 23:7 For as a man thinketh in his heart so he is.

The foundation of your success or failure can be traced back to what you think.  One of the greatest adversities we must overcome is what we were told as children, there is a lot of information we must sort through.  Some of the things spoken to children sticks with them into adulthood.  As a grown man I had to eradicate things in my thinking that were planted there as a child.  I believe most of the fears adults have today came to them as children and now we must deal with them as adults.  We don’t like to admit we have fears because they seem so childish!

2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us the spirit of fear, but He gave us the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

If God didn’t give us the spirit of fear, then who did?  We all know that fear comes from the devil, people under the influence of fear do not make rational decisions.  If the devil can keep us in fear then he can keep us from faith and the blessings of our Lord.  Some folks just adapt to their fears and avoid situations where they would have to deal with “their” fears.  The more fears you have the more limits you put on yourself.  God gave us the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind to deal with the spirit of fear.  If it isn’t from God then we have no business with it, we must deal with it according to God’s Word.

1 Corinthians 2:16 But we have the mind of Christ.

Losing one’s mind is considered a psychological problem usually attributed to stress.  But in the life of a Christian we must lose our mind, our way of thinking, before we can have the mind of Christ and His way of doing things.  What thinketh thou?  I think like Christ thinks, I study my Bible to find out what He thinks and then I emulate Him.  If I have the mind of Christ and I think like He does, then I’m a success looking for a place to happen.  We are not stuck with all the negative thoughts we grew up with, we can trade them off for a new mind with new thoughts.  I think everything will be all right.
