what love hates

God is love but there are things that love hates.  He hates sin because His Son bore the sins of many.  The Bible clearly points out six sins God really hates and one is disgusting to Him.

Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six evils God truly hates and a seventh that is an abomination to Him: Putting others down while considering yourself superior, spreading lies and rumors, spilling the blood of the innocent, plotting evil in your heart towards another, gloating over doing what’s plainly wrong,  spouting lies in false testimony, and stirring up strife between friends.  These are entirely despicable to God!

As I read these seven sins I wondered why these particular sins were so grievous to the Father.  I didn’t wonder for long, the Holy Ghost showed me that these seven sins all have one thing in common.  The Lord hates those seven particular sins because they all describe how we treat other people, especially a brother or sister.  God loves us, died for us, forgives us, and blesses us.  What do we do?  Go out and do evil to everyone created in His image.

Consider Saul of Tarsus, he was a Jewish pharisee and he was out practicing the seven sins that God hates.  Jesus took it personal.  He said to Saul, “Why do you persecute me?”

Mathew 25:40 Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of My brethren, you do it unto Me.

Jesus pointed out Saul’s error and gave him an opportunity to repent, which he did.  It was Saul’s nature to hate and persecute those he was “superior” to.  After he was born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit, he became a man of love and it cost him his life.  Men who are not ashamed to hate other folks need God’s help, like Paul they need a life changing measure of grace.  Paul was not commanded to change, he was graced to change.

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.  He that
loves not his brother abides in death.

Now we can see another reason God hates these seven sins, the man who engages in them is abiding in eternal death.  God sent His Son to save the world not condemn it.  We cannot live for the devil and expect God to bring us to Heaven with Him.  The Bible talks about holiness.  What is holiness?  It’s hating what God hates and loving what God loves.  Babies are born without any prejudice.  Most babies have no fears, they know only love.  A baby must be taught to have fear and to hate.  Would it not be better if we just teach our babies to love?

We should not concern ourselves with the way people choose to live their lives.  We should consider one thing, what we can do to help them.  I do not agree with the politics of hate and I can’t change any of them, so I don’t listen to them and I pray God’s will for them.  It has been said that God hates the sin but loves the sinner, the sinners have used this cliché to excuse their evil ways.  The only one they deceive is themselves.  I pray they come to be honest with themselves.  We can offer to help people to get out of bondage, but if they don’t want out we can’t help them.  I became a Christian because people told me the truth, they told me what Jesus did and that He loved me.  After that I went seeking for this relationship and they helped me to accept Jesus.  There is nothing greater than the love of God.
