The most important thing a Christian needs for their life is to know God's will for their life. Most believers struggle their entire life trying to know God's will for their lives. Many are waiting for God to just speak clearly to them before they commit to anything. Shortly after I was born-again and baptized with the Holy Ghost I began to study God's Word in great depth. No one made me do this and nobody told me I had to. I just loved learning about my Savior. I never considered God's will for my life, I didn't know He had one. I just enjoyed the Word. One day I came to realize the Lord wanted me to teach, so I diligently ignored Him. How did I know this?
1 Corinthians 2:16 Who has known the mind of the Lord? But we have the mind of Christ.
I didn't comprehend it at the time but when you are actively serving the Lord, you will hear His thoughts. I knew that I knew He wanted me to be a teacher but I judged myself to be unqualified. When God calls anyone to do something or be something He anoints them with the Holy Ghost and power. I didn't know that at the time. Kenneth Hagin always said this: If you believe you're called to do something or be something, don't do one thing about it. God will put you where He wants you when He is ready.
1 Corinthians 12:18 Now God has set every member in His body, as it has pleased Him.
God has a place in His church body for every saint who is willing to be in the place He wants them to be. Furthermore, whosoever He calls He also empowers to fulfill their calling. I know several people who put themselves in a position in the church and they struggled every day until they just quit everything. Anytime you labor in your own strength you will eventually wear yourself out and blame other people for your failure! When you're in the place God placed you, His anointing becomes your strength and you can do all things through God who strengthens you. What do we do until we know God's will for our lives? Give yourself to studying His Word and commit to be faithful. Do every little thing He gives you to do; God rewards faithfulness.
James 4:15 For what you ought to say, if the Lord will, we shall live, and do this or that.
If you don't know what God's will is then don't say you do, say "if it be God's will". Once you know God's will commit to doing it with full assurance that He will empower you. Don't fake it, people can identify a fraud quickly and that is not good on your resume. His will for your life is the most important thing after your new birth. It's not like a treasure hunt, God does not hide it from us.
Jeremiah 29:13 You shall seek Me, and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
If you will commit to seek the Lord whole heartedly, you will find Him and His will for your life. Make your Lord your priority not anything else, and you will find more than what you're seeking for. It does not matter how much grief the devil throws your way, when you're in God's will for your life you will always have peace. God called me into the office of teacher and then the office of the pastor. If for any reason I would have refused to obey, He would have found someone who was willing to submit. I would have forfeited all the rewards that would have proceeded from my obedience. Remember this one thing, God's will in the earth is the same as His will in Heaven.
