they shall recover

What do you do once the prayer of faith is spoken over you?  Seems to me like most folks walk away and check to see if they got anything.

Mark 16:18 They shall lay hands on the sick (infirm) and they shall recover.

The word recover in the Greek means to conceive or begin to mend.  When hands are laid upon you and the Word of faith is spoken, the healing power of Christ begins to manifest.  If you are the recipient of His glorious power, you must cooperate with Him.  It’s great to have confidence in the faith of others, but we too have a responsibility to accept the healing power of Jesus.  If we believe we have conceived the power of Jesus then we must do something to release our faith.

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it has not works (an act) is dead, being by itself.

If we believe it’s God’s will to heal us and we have therefore begun to mend, then we must act on His Word.  We must do what healed people do and most importantly we must say what we have, not what we had!  Faith without a corresponding action is invalid, it will deliver nothing to you.  Many times in our Bible we see Jesus saying to a lame man, arise and walk.  The man was healed as he stood upon his feet, if he had never made an effort he would have never walked.  If you have an infirmity and you want prayer but you don’t think you can act on your faith, you’re not ready to release the faith you have.  Don’t give up, you just need some more faith, you just need more Word.

Acts 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul.

We all love special miracles because they require little faith from us.  If we wait for the day of special miracles we may have to spend many days with our infirmity.  Special miracles are very rare, God’s best is for us to use our faith because without faith it is impossible to please Him.  Why do we struggle to receive what Jesus died to give us?

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God.

If you have forgotten, let me remind you that we are at spiritual war.  The devil hates God, therefore he hates you and he will do whatever he can to deprive us of God’s promises.  The devil does not want you to be healed, he has worked his tail off to make you sick.  He knows that if you receive your healing you will give God the glory and he is jealous for our attention.  We are in warfare, we are soldiers and God has issued us specific weapons for specific warfare.  He gave us His Name, His Word and His blood.  His Name is above all names that every knee must bow to.  He gave us His Word which is His will and He gave us His blood to wash away every sin, and make us His very own children.  The devil is a spirit and our weapons are spirit, the devil has no armor to protect himself and he doesn’t have a prayer.  So saints, when you’ve prayed and engaged your faith, arise and be made whole.  Live like the healed person you are. Amen.
