the supernatural power of god

We have been well taught concerning the power of God that heals us.  Recently the Lord brought something to my attention and maybe you can learn what I learned if you need to.  Without thinking I was lording my good health over those who were infected with covid or living in fear of contracting it.  In a word, I was being foolish and ungodly!  In the first place I owe all of my good health to Jesus, I can do nothing about plagues on my own.  I have no business judging anyone or how they believe, my business is to pray for all men.  I really appreciate God rebuking me and putting me in my place, which is in His grace.

1 Peter 5:5 God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

Pride is the trademark of the devil, it cost him his identity and his place in heaven.  If he can convince a man to maintain his pride, he can successfully cut him off from the grace of God.  A humble man knows his limitations, he knows what he can do and when to seek help for all the things he can’t do.  Furthermore, he knows where to assign the credit for his success and take responsibility for his weakness.  Having no power or ability does not always lead to failure, it means you need someone to help you.

Isaiah 48:11 I will not let My Name be dishonored or let anyone else share the glory that is Mine and Mine alone.

It would be very foolish of us to think God owes us everything He promised.  He owes us nothing but love, it is us that owe Him our very lives and daily bread.  If you want to cut yourself off from the blessing of a loving God just demonstrate an attitude of superiority.  Often times folks wonder why God isn’t blessing them and they have no idea they have an attitude that puts God off.  We must pay attention to our motives, the devil is a master at slipping his pernicious ways into our minds.

Psalms 91:10 There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

We are divinely protected by the sacrifice of our Lord and Master Jesus.  Of ourselves we have no might against the flu or covid, we must rely on the love and mercy of God.  I don’t know why some believers get sick, but that doesn’t change that Jesus is still their Healer.  We have no business judging anyone for any reason, if we judge we will be judged.  I have taken no flu for over thirty years but that does not make me special in any way.  My Lord has protected me even when I did foolish things, not because I am special but because He is.  The Word says the prayer of faith shall save the sick, even the sick can have faith.  We are to pray for one another that we may be healed.

Our church walks in a high degree of good health but we must never take God for granted.  We should never think we deserve to be blessed more than any other brother or sister.  If we have more faith, that’s good, but it does not create an occasion for boasting.  I pray every saint of God experience the supernatural power of God and they testify of God’s goodness.
