the seed of life

The Bible has much to say about seed, Paul wrote in the book of Galatians: A man’s harvest in life depends entirely on what he sows.  When God wants to bless His people, He gives them seed.  There is no way to number all the seeds that have been sown over the years, but there is one seed that is the most precious of all seeds.

Luke 8:11 The seed is the Word of God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

Jesus is that Seed of Life, the Father loved us so much that He was willing to offer His own Son as a Seed.  Now a seed can do nothing until it is planted and God named His Seed Jesus.  Consider an apple seed and then consider the apple tree, everything that the tree has become was in that one small seed.  God put Himself into the Seed of Life, that’s why Jesus said, “Me and the Father are one”.  The Jews wanted to stone Him after He made that claim because they were one with the devil and didn’t even know it.  The Jewish people had an issue with pride, they didn’t think anyone was as blessed as they were, if you weren’t a Jew you were a dog.  The Jews didn’t realize it but God had planned from the beginning to use their pride to fulfill His plan for all men.

John 12:24 Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.

Jesus is the Seed of Life, if He isn’t planted He will be the only righteous man living, He will abide alone.  So, what would lead to His death and burial?  He would speak the truth and enrage His brethren, the Jews.

John 8:40 Now you seek to kill Me, a man that has told you the truth, which I have heard of God.

The descendants of Abraham, the Jews, were willing to kill the Son of God because He spoke the truth and they didn’t agree with it.  God loved these Jews despite the hatred they had for His Son, He knew they would be responsible for planting His seed, the Seed of Life.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.  A time to be born and a time to die.

We dare not thank the Jews for killing Jesus, but we thank the Father for sending Him.  We can’t blame the Jews because Jesus died for all sinners and we are definitely among them.  The death and subsequent burial of Jesus was totally a supernatural event.  It was far more than a crucifixion that the Romans inflicted on many people.  Jesus bore the sins, sickness, disease and curse of every man ever born of a woman.  And then it got worse, He had to go to hell for three days because He became our sin.  The Seed of Life lay in the ground for three days and then the harvest came.  He no longer abides alone as the only righteous man, but the Father is harvesting many righteous sons.  My brother and sister, you and I are the harvest from God’s Seed of Life.  You can’t tell from looking at the outside, but on the inside we bear the image of the Seed of Life.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
