the limits of god

We know that God has the power to do anything but there are somethings He limits Himself in, He won’t make anyone get saved, He will not take anyone to heaven against their will.  One day I was praying and the Lord spoke something to me I will never forget.  He said the Holy Ghost is the most powerful force in the universe but He would make a poor athlete!  Then He gave me the reason, it was because He won’t compete with man.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need.

God invites us to come to Him and ask for help in time of need.  So, who determines what we need, God or us?  The answer is both of us.  God knows what we have need of before we even ask Him and then He says if we delight in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart.  Let me give you an example of this: I shoot competitive trap around the state and I ask the Lord to help me.  Now I know He can’t break the targets for me, that would not be fair to the other competitors, so, I ask Him to help me to focus and to shoot straight.  No matter how well I do or how poorly I do, I still give Him the glory because He does His part.  I’m the one who makes errors.

Mathew 28:20 I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

When it comes to the work of the Lord, there are no limits put on us, the limitations we do experience come from the devil.  Why do we allow the devil to get away with his tricks when the whole time we have authority over him?  I believe what happens is this: we get so involved with our assignment we become slow to discern the work of the enemy.  He is a master at causing chaos and blaming it on God.  He wants us to think God is holding out on us and putting limits on His promises.  We draw closer to God by renewing our minds and we become more of a challenge for the devil to deceive us.  When it comes to God’s love, grace, mercy and revelations, God has no limits.

Psalm 78:40-41 Israel provoked the Lord in the wilderness.  They turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

If we don’t trust the Lord we won’t obey Him and if we won’t obey then we will put limits on what He wants to do for us.  Well, God is in control!  No, He’s not, God didn’t create the mess this world is in, men are in control and they are not seeking the Lord’s help.  The spirit of pride is alive and well in planet earth and there’s plenty enough to go around.  We cannot live a successful life without the help of our Lord and Master.  Pride puts limits on Him, we think we can do what only He can do or we think we can do it better.  A lot of lives have become shipwrecks because they insisted on being the captain of their own ship.  I can do all things through Christ Jesus because I refuse to put any limits on Him.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
