loyalty

I don’t think anything touches the heart of the Father any greater than loyalty.  All the angels in heaven rejoice when a sinner repents, I wonder what they do when a saint decides to go back to the devil?  There are so many elements at work day and night attempting to seduce us away from the arms of the Father.  I can only imagine how pleased our Father is when we resist the devil and remain loyal to our Lord.

John 6:66-67 Many of Christ’s disciples went back and walked no more with Him.  Then He said to the rest, will you go with them?

Many men followed Jesus until the Word became too hard for them to obey, I’m certain the “religious” crowd put pressure on them to leave the “so-called Messiah”.  Jesus asked His twelve closest disciples if they were forsaking Him like all the rest.  You see, Jesus spoke what the Father told Him to speak, He could not and would not compromise the Word for anyone.  Some men from the beginning have no plan to stay with the Lord for the long haul, the first time they hear something they don’t like they leave out.

Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.

A dog will lap up his vomit because he never really wanted to get rid of it.  Some men abandon Jesus at the first hint of a trial because they never were fully committed to begin with.  They did not want to turn from the lifestyle of the old man, they enjoyed the pleasure of sin.  God can do nothing for them, He will not alter His Word for any man.  Man’s only way of escape is the Word, the truth can set them free if they will acknowledge it.

Jeremiah 17:13 O Lord, all that forsake You shall be ashamed, and they that depart from You shall be written in the earth,  because they have forsaken the Lord.

One day the Jewish men brought to Jesus a woman they caught in adultery, they claimed that according to the law they should stone her to death.  Jesus said, “he that is without sin cast the first stone”, then He began to write on the ground.  I believe He was writing their names in the earth to show them they were not practicing righteousness.  Men who are saved have their names written in heaven.  Yes, the woman was guilty but they too were sinners incapable of judging anyone.  It is much easier to be judged of the Lord than man, God does not want to condemn anyone, but men do!

Mathew 7:21 Not every one that says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven: but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven.

Man does not get to define loyalty, only God can do that.  A lot of folks refer to God as Lord but they won’t do what He tells them.  These folks deceive only themselves, God will not be mocked, we do not get to change the rules.  God so loved the world that He committed to saving it.  If we are grateful we will love God and be committed to being loyal to Him until we see Him face to face.
