the glory

Recently I was listening to Kenneth Copeland talk about the glory visiting his church.  One of the musical instruments began to play all on its own, this was a very small demonstration of the glory, a manifestation of God’s presence.  He spoke prophetically and said it would be the glory that attracts people to a church.  George Pearsons, pastors Eagle Mountain Church, asked to see the hands of all the people that moved to the area to be a part of the church.  They were stunned to see so many hands, thank God for the glory.  Kenneth went on to explain how we attract God’s glory, we must be obedient in all things.

Jude 1:4 Some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives.

Compromise appears to be the order of the day, God is searching for a people who will without reservation obey Him.  People who are willing to obey the Master are humble people, they have more faith in the Lord than they do in their own prowess.  These folks walk by faith, not by sight, they will act on His Word even before they understand it.  These folks are demonstrating that they can be trusted with greater measures of the glory.  The compromisers will not see the glory and many will dispute its authenticity because they don’t have it.

1 Corinthians 1:10 I exhort you brothers, that you all speak the same things, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and purpose.

So how do you get a group of Christians to come into agreement and pursue the same Spirit and goals?  We must all be willing to listen to the same voice, whether it be the Holy Ghost Himself or a person the Spirit speaks through.  There are a lot of good, sound preachers in the body of Christ and they all have different assignments.

1 Corinthians 4:15 For though you have ten thousand teachers in Christ, yet you have not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

An anointed teacher of God will help you understand God’s Word more clearly, but a father will coach you along the way.  You do not choose your father, he begets you.  Early on your father is a man you are drawn to, as you grow in the Lord it is revealed to you that this man is your spiritual father.  Years ago the Lord told me to study after Brother Copeland and that he would be my spiritual father.  Because he is my father I can understand him and I can hear him say things that apply to me personally.  Now, because Kenneth Copeland  and Jerry Savelle are in perfect agreement, Jerry Savelle is my other spiritual father.  A father can speak into your life and help you fulfill your calling and purpose.  A teacher will impart the Word and be on their way but a father will remain with you to help you be the best you can be.  A father will help you step by step to find the glory, he will meet you in that place.  A teacher will talk of it, a father will show it to you.
