the eye of the spirit

Man has made technological advances with devices that can see the surface of the moon that is 238,900 miles away.  Despite his best efforts man cannot see things that are before his face.  There exists a whole new world that surrounds men and none of us can see it.  The king of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha the prophet; a whole army to arrest one man.  When Elisha’s servant saw all the horses and chariots surrounding them he feared for his life and the life of Elisha.
 
2 Kings 6:17 But Elisha prayed, I pray O Lord open my servants eyes, that he may see.  And when He did, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all about Elisha.
 
There is a whole other world of existence all around us that we cannot see, it’s called the spirit realm.  If we can’t see it, how do we know it exists?  The invisible things of the Lord from the creation of the world are clearly seen.  In other words, we know there is another realm all around we cannot see because God says there is.  If you can’t believe God, then who can you believe?  Even the heathen believe we are not alone, they believe there are ghosts, goblins, extraterrestrials and others they cannot explain.  So, where did all these invisible beings come from and are they good or evil?
 
Psalm 68:17 The chariots of God are thousands upon thousands of angels: the Lord is among them in the place of honor.
 
God created the angels to serve Him and all of His creation, but in heaven before He created man, the chief angel lucifer got too big for his britches.  This angel became full of himself, he thought he could take God’s place and run the universe.  When lucifer was kicked out of heaven he took a third of the angelic host with him.  Consequently we are surrounded by ministering spirits (angels) and the devil and his servants.  I am happy to report the devil and his bunch are out numbered three to one.
 
1 Samuel 16:7 The Lord does not see as men see, man can only see the outward appearance, but the Lord can see the heart of man.
 
There is nothing hidden from God, He can see everything visible and invisible.  On special occasions God can open our eyes and we can see into the spirit realm.  This is very rare and it can be simulated by the devil, without knowledge we wouldn’t understand what we see.  So, is the spirit realm and all the spirit life in that realm off limits to us?
 
1 Corinthians 2:10 God has revealed these things to the believer by His Holy Spirit.
 
Our Heavenly Father is our window into the invisible realm, He tells us what is around us and what to do with it.  In Jesus Name we can bind the devil, I have never seen a devil being bound up but I believe he is.  I am not aware of ever seeing an angel, but I know I have sent them on strategic assignments.  I know that when it’s time to leave this body I will enter this spirit realm and be apart of what I have not seen.  For the time being I will pray and I will obey, my Lord will lead me through this life and the next.
