the devil's doctrine

The devil is constantly looking for a road into the church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Apostle Paul warned us that many would opt out of the faith and accept the teachings of satan.  Evidently a lot of churches didn’t get the memo, they are teaching the devil in their house of worship.  When Paul wrote his first letter to the church at Corinth, he addressed their doctrine of devils.  They had a man in the church that was fooling around with his father’s wife and they just let it go on.  Paul got in their faces because they didn’t see anything wrong with that behavior, perhaps they viewed it as an operation of love.

Jude 1:4 Some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives.  The condemnation of such people was    recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jude, the brother of Jesus, had to address the doctrine of devils over the entire church.  He points out that these false teachers have brought themselves to judgement that was predetermined long before.  Some of the scoffers will enter the vengeance of eternal fire but it doesn’t seem to dissuade many of them.  I have a word for all of these, it is far better to be judged of the Lord now rather than later.  I know a lady who is trying to be a pastor and she teaches that God’s judgements are not in the earth today!  I must be forthright with you, a born-again Christian can compromise God’s Word and still make heaven!

Mathew 5:19 Whosoever shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men, so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

There is rank and file in the kingdom of heaven, it may not mean much now but it will in eternity.  If a saint is truly grateful for their salvation they will live upright before the Lord all the days of their lives.

Why did I get saved?

Every born-again Christian must ask themselves this question, why did I go to Jesus?  Our reason for doing something will have a direct bearing on the way we conduct our lives.  Folks who don’t give a damn don’t know who they are or why they were born into this world.  The people who have met Jesus are confident, they understand how the kingdom of man and the kingdom of God operate.  More importantly, they know how to keep the two kingdoms separate from one another.  I got saved because I didn’t want to spend eternity in hell.  As I investigated the Lord and His reason for wanting to save me, I fell deeply in love with Him.  As time went by, Jesus became more important than heaven, I think more about Him than anything else.  I got saved to avoid hell, I’m saved because I love Jesus.  The doctrine of devils means nothing to me.
