the demon of compromise

I know a lot of good Christian folks who were excited about their relationship with Jesus.  As time wore on they lost that lovin’ feelin’ and they became lukewarm.  The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is not always excited about the Lord, even after the Lord heals it!  Just because you leave the devil’s camp and join yourself to Jesus doesn’t mean the devil ceases to attempt to draw you back to himself.  The devil counts it a greater victory when he can come between a believer and the Lord.  This is greater to him than holding fast to a sinner who has never known Christ.

2 John 1:8 Look to yourself that you lose not those things which you have gained, but that you receive a full reward.

While you’re on fire for Jesus you are accumulating the rewards of faithfulness.  But when you compromise you put your rewards in jeopardy.  When we all get to heaven God will reward every person according to his or her faithfulness.  The compromisers will have no such rewards.  God loves everyone in heaven equally and everyone will share His glory, however, the faithful ones will be known by everyone.  If the only thing God ever told you to do is take out the trash and you do it, you will get a full reward.

Luke 22:31 The Lord said   Simon, Simon, behold, satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.  But I prayed for you that your faith fail not.

The devil was targeting Christ’s number one man and Jesus knew it.  He did two things, He prayed for Peter and He warned him.  The same thing He does for all of us.  The same night that Jesus spoke this, Peter denied knowing Him three times and then the “gospel chicken” crowed.  The devil sifted Peter.  Peter compromised and wept in his grief.  Thank God Peter felt the shame and repented.  I know a lot good Christians who have justified their lukewarm condition.

Hebrews 10: 38-39 The just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul will have no pleasure in him.  But we are not of them who draw back unto  perdition (damnation, hell)  but of them that believe to  the saving of the soul.

Compromise can be deadly.  It can come between us and our redemption.  Compromise doesn’t just happen, it comes in slowly and continues to beckon us away from the security of our salvation.  At anytime during this process we can oppose it and return to the safety of God’s love.  The devil has appointed a large number of folks who he ordained to minster compromise to the willing.

2 Timothy 4:3 The time has come where they will not   endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts they will heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.

No matter what anyone wants to compromise, the devil has a teacher who will accommodate them.  Religion is the epitome of fake news and the fan base is growing daily.  You can always find a “minister” who will bless your compromise, your error.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
