the blessed life

The last four years have been great times for all Americans, especially the Christians.  God had a president that flowed with His vision for America.  But now it would appear we have a new president that does not show the same values of our former president.  So, now what will our lives be like?  Will this new administration legislate God out of our nation or will it govern with godly principles?

John 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of.

No matter what the convictions of the new president are, Jesus came to give us a life better than what we could dream of.  Based on the president’s past decisions, I think the United States will suffer much anguish and set backs.  But the true believers will thrive as they operate in the Kingdom of God.  I do believe that if the true believers will hold fast to the Word of God and pray, the devil will struggle to influence the leadership.  Our president is not a Christian, he is a Catholic and the two are not the same.  Jesus said He came to give us a life beyond our ability to dream it.  So, no matter who is leading our country they cannot hinder the promises of God.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort you to pray and make intercessions for all men, for kings and all leaders, that you may live a quiet and peaceable life.

Praying for the nation’s leaders will lead you to live a tranquil and undisturbed life. So, what and how do we pray?  God’s purpose for intercession is to lead men to salvation, so our prayers must be founded on God’s will for men’s eternity.  We must pray for all men as if we are praying for ourselves.  What do we want God to do for us?  If I was the president of a great nation I would want God to give me wisdom and courage.  I would want to know how to keep America great and how to present every American with the opportunity to succeed.  I would not be a respector of persons, love me or hate me, you would be treated like every other citizen of this great nation.

Mark 11:23 ... believe those things I have said and you shall have whatsoever you say.

In order for us to live the blessed life, we need to do two things: believe what our Lord has said and speak out what He says.  Presidents and political leaders cannot hinder us from accepting the blessings, not even the devil can stop God.  We can become our own worst enemy if we speak of what we see and hear our leaders are doing.  Do not underestimate the power of intercessory prayer, our nation would be far worse off if it were not for the prayers of the saints.

Our calling is to pray, not to tell God how He should handle our leaders.  God gave dominion to man, so when we pray we create an avenue for God to have access to whoever we pray for.  If we don’t know what to pray that’s all right.  The Holy Ghost knows what He needs from us.  That’s what the gift of tongues is for, just let the Holy Spirit pray through us.  The devil wants to rob from us and God wants to bless us. Pray God will have His way.
