the authority of the believer

A lot of people are waiting for God to do something for them in their life.  They conjure up a myriad of excuses as to why God never comes to help them.  Perhaps they have not been good enough, it just isn’t God’s will, or God wants them to suffer awhile.  Many Christians are in bondage to their thoughts because they don’t know the truth, therefore they cannot be set free.  The answer to every question is in our copy of the Bible.  It seems like the Bible is the last place folks search for answers.
 
Genesis 1:26 And God said, let us make man in our image and likeness, and let them have dominion/authority over all the earth.
 
There are a lot of things God cannot do for us until we exercise our authority.  God told Jeremiah that He would hasten to perform His Word, but someone needs to believe His Word to the point where they will declare it.  The people in the world have authority over one another.  The believer has dominion over God’s angels and satan’s fallen angels.  God’s angels are ministering spirits who are sent to wait on all those who are the heirs of salvation.  You must be well grounded in your dominion because the devil will challenge your authority and he will try to usurp himself above you.  He can sound very convincing but he is the master liar, he couldn’t speak the truth even if it was written down for him to read.
 
Mark 16:17 These signs shall follow them that believe; in My Name they shall cast out devils; they will speak in new tongues.
 
The word tongues is speaking about the gift that comes from the Holy Ghost but I see another meaning for tongues.  I believe another aspect of tongues is dominion.  Jesus restored authority to the believer through His Name.  Aforetime man had authority but he was the servant of the devil, man’s dominion did more harm than good.  The devil cannot create anything, he is a perverter and he used men to compromise God’s creation.  After the death and resurrection of Jesus, man was given the tongue of those with authority.  I wonder what the devil thought when the men he used to pervert creation suddenly began to put him in his place.
 
Luke 16:20 And the believers went out and spoke the truth everywhere, the Lord working with and confirming the Word with signs and wonders.
 
It is man’s responsibility to speak God’s Word with authority, it is God’s responsibility to make it come to pass.  God can do nothing until we do something.  Some have been waiting on God but God has been waiting on us.  Our words perverted our environment at the coaxing of the devil, but now we can frame our world with our authority and God’s Word.  Stop waiting on God, take the dominion He gave us and begin to put things in order.  Shed the victim mentality and act like you’re in charge of your world, because you are.
 
Millions of Christians around the world have no clue what Jesus did for them, they are letting Him die in vain.  God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants because they believe Him.  He enjoys giving us what He said we could have, and He has provided more than we can ever receive.  Don’t let the devil get away with one single perverted plan, take your authority and by all means disappoint him.
