our kids

Over the years I have seen a lot of good kids in our church but now most are gone, few remain. From time to time I hear about some of those kids, where they are and what they are doing. I miss them. Just recently the Lord spoke to me of a Scripture that pertains to our kids.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The Lord pointed out to me where I was misusing this Scripture. I was reading it this way: Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from his church! Our kids may move around and experience a few things but if we did our part, they will hold fast to what we taught them. I don't see our kids and I don't know what they are up to but I am obliged to believe they have not turned from the truth. We must put our faith and trust in the Lord and His Word, it's better than worrying over them.

2 Timothy 1:5 My son Timothy, I think of your strong faith that was passed down through your family line. It began with your grandmother Lois, who passed it on to your dear mother, Eunice.  And it's clear that you too are following in the footsteps of their godly example.

Faith is hereditary, it can be passed down to our kids and it stays with them for as long as they want it. According to the Scriptures, I am the Spiritual father to all of those kids who grew up in our church. Our kids had a double dose of faith they left here with, we must believe they will not depart from the truth. I had twelve years of Catholic doctrine drilled into my young skull full of mush. Catholicism doesn't follow the Bible but it will lead you to have faith in God. At the age of seventeen I departed from God and was joined to a stranger named Uncle Sam. For about eight years I ignored what truth was departed into me and I lived with and for the devil. No matter how naughty I became I could not shake the voice of truth I heard about God. I was trained to go the way of the Catholics so I returned to my roots and began to search for God. I did not find Him in my Catholic church , but I did find Him while I attended my Catholic church.

Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

When a prodigal embraces truth, he will also be given mercy. He will be restored to perhaps better than before. God does not penalize His kids when they return to Him after a long absence. As a church we must welcome all prodigals with open arms and thank God for drawing them back. Do they need to be in the church they grew up in or is it more important that they be in the truth they grew up in? When we were kids, the adults were appalled at our behavior and physical appearance. When I was a kid, the adults had a problem with our long hair. As adults we are shocked with all the tattoos the kids are getting. Every generation expresses themselves with something out of the ordinary. We must accept them as the way they want to present themselves. We must not allow differences of expression to be a wedge between us. The adult children are coming home and they are weird just like we were, but they know the right way. Don't let anything about the kids shock you, God loves them and He receives their praise.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
