Church attendance has declined by forty-two percent. Thirty-eight percent of pastors have contemplated quitting. It took the devil two thousand years to render Jesus nonrelevant. God has lost His popularity, but He has never changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. People are convinced that they don't need God, they can "get by" without Him. God knew this was coming but He couldn't do anything about it because He gave every man free will. Every person who has backed away from God has a legitimate excuse, at least that's what they think.
John 14:23 If a man love Me, he will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
When God enters the life of a believer, He intends to remain there forever, not just a season. If a man will not keep God's Words, then God is no longer welcome in that man's life! Many Christians have become lukewarm or bored with the whole relationship thing because God doesn't do enough for them. There is the Lord and there is the servant, but some folks have the roles confused. It's a tragic thing to forget who gave us our life, we can easily become spoiled children. The only one who cheers on this event is the devil. It's exactly how he planned it.
1 Timothy 4:1 The Holy Spirit clearly revealed that in the last of the last days many will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
What would you call a man who goes out to a nearby lake in winter ignoring the thin ice sign and falling through? What would you call a believer who is warned that the devil will try to separate them from God, but then ignores the warning? A FOOL. Deception is a choice, no one has to be deceived and yet many live in deception and call it "their life". Being enlightened pays good dividends, being deceived will cost us the best life we could have had. The Bible tells us to awaken to righteousness and not to slumber. It's trying to keep us alive.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means for the days of Christ's return shall not come, except there come a falling away first.
This is totally sad and totally expected, many many believers are going to abandon Christ. And for what? Every man will live forever and our life in the flesh is the shortest part of our life. James says our life is but a vapor. A vapor is a mist or gas. Yes, life can be a real stinker, but short. We began in this world to prepare us for the world to come. Every man has begun eternal life. Every man will choose where they will spend eternity. It's Heaven or hell and nothing in between. Some folks live here as if they will be here forever, our dead bodies won't even be here forever.
John 14:3 Now I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you will be also.
Jesus will sit on His throne after His millennial reign on earth and those who were determined to be with Him will be. Eternity does not begin when you die, it began when you were born. Eternity with Jesus does not begin when you die, it began when you were born-again. The life Jesus has prepared for us is out of this world, it is beyond what we can ask or think. Make a quality decision that you're going to remain in Christ now and throughout all eternity. Jesus is waiting for us, don't disappoint Him.
