Joel 2: 28 ...your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

God created man with the ability to see reality within himself.  Several times in the Bible we read accounts of God appearing to men in dreams and visions.  God wants us to envision within ourselves what He has planned and can do for us.  Before He led the nation of Israel out of Egypt, He told them they were going to a land flowing with milk and honey.  He wanted His people to forget all of their years in bondage and focus on a new land and a new life.

God got His people out of Egypt, but He could not get Egypt out of His people.

When Israel came out of Egypt, it was by the way of a miracle.  The entire event from beginning to end was to be one continual miracle.  When it came time for the miraculous, the people could only remember their life in Egypt.  God used ten evil plagues to persuade Egypt and not one of them touched Israel.  After the people left healed and wealthy, He split the red sea and drowned the Egyptians.  Not only was God set on protecting His people, but He wanted them to see what their God could and would do for them.

Psalm 103:3-4 God forgives all your sins, heals all your disease and redeems your life from destruction.

God had His will recorded in the Bible so we could read it, know it and then begin to meditate on it.  Meditate means to imagine or to ponder something recorded. Why does our Lord want us to meditate His Word?  If we will consider His Word long enough, we will begin to see Him perform it within ourselves.  If you have ever heard a coach try to inspire his team before a game, you will see him trying to get his players to see themselves as winners.  He will not talk about the strength of the opponent nor their record.

Proverbs 23:7 For as a man thinks in his heart so is he.

Whatsoever a man gives himself to, that’s what he will think on and become.  Some folks in their ignorance follow after failures and they inevitably make the same foolish errors.  The first thing God wants us to see is ourselves washed in His blood and totally sinless.  If He can get us to see ourselves clothed in His righteousness, then we can easily see everything else He has made us to be.  He heals all of our disease, so we should see ourselves sound and whole.  As a man thinketh, as a man dreams, so shall he become what he envisions.

God created man to see within himself what he desires, this can be good or bad.  He tells us throughout His Word to consider Him.  Take notice of what He can do, has done and will do.

We will see it before we have it.

O say, can you see what the Lord has done for you?  When I see Jesus healing the sick in His ministry, I picture Him doing the same for me.  He puts the image on the inside of us and He has made the way to walk in that image.
