Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the ungodly bear rule, the people mourn.

We just had four years under righteous authority and we were glad.  For the next four years it looks like we might be under an ungodly regime, they have a form of godliness but deny God’s power.  I want to draw your attention to something very important, God is still on His throne.  He was never voted off.

John 16:33 I have spoken to you that you should have peace.  In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Where does tribulation come from?  It comes from leaders who are under the authority of satan!  Tribulation is persecution, the devil will do whatever he can do to get us to ignore what Jesus did for us.  So here is the deal, we can have tribulation or we can have peace, the choice is ours.  I know a lot of people who love tribulation, it gives them something to whine about because some people enjoy being the victim.  I know people that every time I see them they have to tell me how tough life is and how they are treated unfairly.  When the devil hears people whining and complaining he takes it as praise for himself.  I do not deny the existence of tribulation, I deny it’s attempt to be a part of my life.  Tribulation will hang with you just as long as you want it to!

2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us the spirit of fear: but the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

Once again we are given a choice, we can have the spirit of fear or we can have a strong mind.  No one in their right mind would choose fear, so why do so many choose it anyway?  Because they don’t know any other way.  A Christian should know better but when tribulation comes they forget the promise of a sound mind and peace.  I can say one thing about the devil that is true, he is reliable.  He will come and try to bring hell into our lives.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or stress, persecution, lack, peril or death?

Love is a commitment and God is committed to remain with us no matter the circumstances.  Isaiah the prophet said: a man will have perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God.  So, here is our option.  We can keep our mind fastened to the tribulation or we can keep our mind on our Deliverer.  Do you understand what happens when you focus on Jesus?  You have a peace that passes all understanding.  I don’t have time to consider fear, I spend most of my time considering God and all His ways.  When I was growing us as a young boy I think I was the most fearful kid in town.  I was always imagining the worst outcome of everything.  I attended a church and a “Christian” school but I had no peace.  I never even knew it was available. Thank God for the Bible and the Holy Ghost Who guides us into every truth in the Book.  I am not afraid.  Fear will change nothing but God will if we believe.  I have no time for fear.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
