When I was a young boy in grade school, I was sick all the time.  My school was only two blocks from the East Helena drug store and my teacher would let me walk down there and get throat lozenges.  I participated in the flu season every year and sometimes I would double up.  Then came the colds, strep throat and boils.  I spent my entire childhood as a sicko.  I was sick off and on up until the day I invited Jesus to come into my life.  When Jesus came, revelation came, He said He would be my healer and I no longer had to take any sickness or disease.

Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our sickness and diseases, and carried pains, yet we thought He was smitten of God and afflicted.

Some Christians struggle with the question: Is it God’s will to heal every time?  Isaiah answered this question seven hundred years before Jesus became flesh.  When Jesus went to the cross, He took every sin and every one of our sicknesses onto Himself.  It is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.  God’s will for our healing was expressed long before we were born, with Jesus’ stripes we ARE healed.

Mathew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified or by your words you will be condemned.

If you desire the miracles and blessings of the Father, then you cannot permit yourself to go around saying whatever you want.  Our words will invite the condemnation of the devil or the will of God.  You cannot say you’re sick and then confess Jesus as your healer, the Bible says don’t let a double-minded man think he will receive anything.  Our healing begins long before we need it!  We must speak God’s Word over our life every day, we can have whatsoever He says we can have.  The devil will try to coax us into saying how we feel when we should be telling ourselves how we are to feel.

I told My people they could have what they say, but they been saying what they have.
~ Charles Capps

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The devil does not go away of his own volition, he must be confronted and told what to do.  The devil is the author of sickness.  God is seeking to make disciples, the devil is out to make sickos.  We have the choice, we do not ever need to be a sicko, no matter how persistent the devil is.  I have all the opportunities to be sick, as I did in my youth, but now I know how to resist every temptation.  The devil is a loser and I remind him of it every time he comes to offer me a sickness.

The devil’s number one target is the folks who have a prominent place in Christ’s body.  The devil always targets leaders hoping to affect all the followers.  When a leader demonstrates the devil’s defeat, they shame him in front of all those who follow them in the way of victory.  You do not have to be sickos, you do not need to have what the world is saying it has.  You are the redeemed, you are blessed of the Lord, you are a child of God.
