The world is full of pain and suffering, newspapers were invented to keep us informed of all the chaos. And just so they don’t overload you with too much bad news, they devote one page for what they call “comics”. When people read all about the mishaps in the paper, they just shake their heads. But the devil grins with sadistic approval.
 
John 10:10 The devil comes to steal and kill and destroy. I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of. 
 
This Scripture makes a profound distinction between God and His adversary the devil. God hates pain and suffering so much He put it all on His Son as He hung on the cross. The devil has no conscience, he has no favorites. He hates everyone and he is out to share his judgement with whosoever he can. If you wanna know what the devil is up to and who he is afflicting, just read the daily newspaper. It seems like to me that the newsboys can’t wait to tell us about the new “record” of the number of people who have covid. Every rational thinking human being hates this news. But the devil loves having his “works” printed.
 
Luke 23:21 But the people cried all the more saying, crucify Him, crucify Him.
 
The devil is subtle. He can coerce ignorant people to call for the death of Jesus, despite the fact that He healed most of them. The devil has tempted every one of us to side with him to share his hate for a fellow brother. There is something we must all understand, the devil has already been judged. He was cast out of Heaven and sent to hell but Adam let him out. God cannot put the devil away currently because God gave dominion to man. When Jesus returns, He will rule and reign in Adam’s place and the devil will ultimately be locked away forever. Jesus defeated the devil when He rose from the dead. Then Jesus gave us His Name and the devil is subject to that Name.
 
Luke 6:23 Rejoice in the day and leap for joy: when the devil puts your faith on trial for behold your reward in Heaven is great.
 
When the devil comes for your house to offer you something harmful, the worst thing you can do to him is begin praising our Lord. The devil hates it when you ignore him and give God all your attention. The devil has a very difficult time incarcerating someone who knows the truth. The ignorant and willing people who care nothing for God’s Word are a push over for the devil.
 
James 4:7 Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
 
When the devil finds men who are not submitted to God, he will turn them to submit to him. When I look back on my life before Christ, I can see where the devil had me wrapped around his little finger. Now with the Name of Jesus, I have him wrapped around my little finger and he must do whatever I tell him. Once you are free of the devil you can than help others get free if they want to!
