meet your savior

If  I was on a ship and I fell overboard and someone threw me a life vest I would want to meet the person who saved my life. I often wonder how many born-again Christians have ever met their Savior. God didn't save us to then leave us alone until we meet Him in Heaven. God is the Father and fathers love to talk to their children when they want to. I think most folks ignore their Savior because they were never told they could converse with God.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 We pray for you all the time, that our Lord will count you worthy of your call to faith and His power, to complete your work of faith.

I know that a lot of believes have been taught that they can never be worthy of God. This is true to a degree, we can do nothing to make ourselves worthy of God. But when you receive Him as your Savior, He declares you worthy. You have become one of His kids. If we will make Him the Lord of our life and commit to do whatever He commands, He will bless us every day of the world. What would God want to say to you? I don't know word for word what He would say but when He is done you will know you're important to Him.

1 John 1:3 We have been with Jesus and we declare Him unto you, that we may have fellowship with you; for truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus the Christ.

Fellowship - consort, associate, companionship, one of a part.

The disciples were with Jesus nearly every day for over three years, they had plenty of time to know the Father because Jesus said if you see Me you have seen the Father. But what about the rest of us? We don't get to talk to Jesus like they did, it doesn't seem fair! Just before Jesus returned to Heaven He said He would send another comforter, someone who would take His place. The Holy Spirit is for us what Jesus was for the disciples and He is available twenty-four-seven. The disciples were believers, they were not born-again but Jesus counted them worthy of His presence. I have always said that if you locked me away into solitary confinement I would never be alone. Me and the Holy Spirit would fellowship all the day long. My only regret would be that I wouldn't have anyone to share what He revealed to me.

Philippians 3:10 All I want is to know Jesus and to experience the power of His resurrection.

Paul told the Philippians that he was ready to be offered, he was ready to die and he called it "gain". Right up to the minute of his departure he still wanted to know Jesus more intimately.

Know - be aware of, feel, perceive, understand, speak with.

Do you understand what Paul is teaching us? When God is invited to have a relationship with us, He assumes it's forever! How could anyone neglect so great an invitation? How can anyone ignore their Savior? Can God really talk to me? Hey, He is God after all. I have never heard an audible voice but I can hear His thoughts all the time. God is not like men, He has very few words in His vocabulary but He can say more with just a word or two. Often times I will read my Bible and not understand what it says, so I ask Him and in a little while I just know what He is wanting to teach me. This should be of no surprise, He said He would guide us into all truth, that means spiritual and natural, all truth.
