I have been taught the Scriptures and I know love never fails. Based on this Scripture I always thought that if you truly loved someone, your love would not fail to change that person for the better. If what I believed is true, then the other Scriptures would bear it out but they don’t.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should bot perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves every one; but not everyone He loves is responding to His love. In fact, many of those He loves are going to hell. But love never fails? I confess before you, I did not understand God’s love for the world. His love never fails. It was not until things were occurring in our church that I hated, that God explained His love to me.
Over the years many good people joined our church. We welcomed them, loved them and in many cases gave them food and money. But one day they never came back. They began to complain to the church community that we didn’t do enough for them. Seems like I always said the same thing: but Lord we loved them and yet they turned against us. Can you see now how I failed to understand that love never fails? One thing I have come to understand is that no matter how much you love someone it will not create loyalty.
Let me use the words I heard the Lord speak in order to help you understand. Son, I love the world, not everyone I love will respond to My love, but I will not fail to love them. When the Scripture says love never fails, it is referring to our love never ending as we release it to others. Have you ever wandered why God is always so patient with us? We all do dumb things and He just keeps on loving us. The reason is because the devil is constantly interfering in our lives.
Isaiah 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that blows the coals in the fire, and that brings forth an instrument for his work; I have created the waster that destroys.
God created the angel that became the devil and ever since then people have been subjected to his destructive antics. God loves all people and He is patient with us because we are subject to demonic influence. He will not fail to love us and give us truth but love does not rejoice in iniquity. At sometime in our life we must respond to His love or be judged with the devil. Love made a way out but love cannot protect us if we won’t accept it. Has love ever failed to help us? Certainly not! We fail to respond to His love so we are the ones who fail.
Love never fails us, we fail love.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus, the anointed One, is always the same, yesterday, today and forever.
God loves us every day; He never changes His mind. Love hopes we will respond to His offer of blessings and salvation. Love can’t make you safe, it can show you the way, but it’s our decision.
