One of the last things Jesus said before returning to Heaven, is that He would come back for those who love Him. Some people believe Him but most don’t because they have never been told what to expect. If you are a Christian it’s because you believe your Bible and you know what you believe.
Hebrew 9:28 Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him, He will appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
So, how does a believer look for Jesus? A true believer will keep himself in a constant state of preparedness, knowing that without warning he will stand face to face with Jesus. He will keep the sin out of his life and he will maintain his love walk, praying without ceasing. If a believer understands the ministration of grace he will maintain a steady flow of this gift in his life. A person who is looking for the return of Jesus will not be caught meddling with sin in the world. If a man would live a holy life on account that he doesn’t want to miss the return of Jesus, this man is missing an important element. No man can live a life of holiness without Jesus, we owe Him our lives and our loyalty.
Mathew 24:44 Therefore be ready: for in such an hour you think not, the Son of Man cometh.
If God announced to the world that He would send Jesus to fetch us home on December 25th, many would get right with Him on December 24th. Do these folks truly love God or do they dread being left behind? When Jesus comes back will He find faith on the earth? Why would He be looking for faith? Because without faith it’s impossible to please Him. The folks who are looking for Him do so because they are living by the faith of the Son of God. One thing I have learned about my Lord is that He doesn’t play games with anyone when it comes to eternal life.
Revelation 7:14 These are they which come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
God is the Lord of the second chance. If some Christians miss going up in the first load, there is a second load. These folks spent three and a half years in the tribulation and finally repented. They don’t meet Jesus in the air but they are taken up into Heaven. I know a lot of saints who died looking for the coming of Jesus, I promise you they have no regrets. When Jesus comes back those saints in Heaven will come with Him and meet us in the air. What should we do with our gift of salvation? First and foremost we need to be eternally grateful. I thank God every time I consider my eternity, I never take my redemption for granted.
Philippians 1:21 For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Death is not the final chapter of a Christian, it’s the beginning of a life better than we are capable of dreaming of. If we could see where our loved ones are going when they die, our tears of sorrow would become tears of envy! When you’re young you don’t think much about the after life but you sure do when you grow older. I encourage you to be on the look out for Jesus, I don’t know when He is coming back, but I believe with all of my heart He is coming.
