in the beginning

Every student of the Bible must have an understanding of the beginning of the natural life of Jesus. Jesus did not begin His life in Bethlehem. The worlds were created by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Son was called "the Word".

John 1:3 All things were made by Him (the Word), nothing was created without Him.

This is a great revelation that most Christians do not have, consequently their perception of Christ is flawed. They think Jesus could do anything because He was God. Yes, Jesus was God but He laid His powers down to function as a man. He began as a new born babe and He had to learn everything any baby needs to learn.

John 1:14 And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among men as a man.

There is very little known about Jesus growing up, He did nothing note worthy because He was just a man. Religious people have a major problem accepting the fact that Jesus was just as they are. They struggle to believe God could ever be so humble as to be a man with all his limitations. They don't know how to process the Scriptures that talk about Jesus being hungry, thirsting, tempted by the devil or that He could feel pain. They can accept Him as God but not as a man.

Philippians 2:6-7 Jesus stripped Himself of all the privileges of God and became a servant in that He became like men and was born a human being.

A man called Adam forfeited his righteousness when he obeyed the devil. God could not do anything for Adam because He gave dominion to men. A man would have to confront the devil and restore mankind back to the Heavenly Father. The only difference between man and Jesus was who their father was. All men bore the sin of Adam but Jesus was a righteous man. Jesus didn't look any different on the outside but on the inside He bore the image of God His Father. Jesus was the righteousness of God and sinful man needed a sinless sacrifice for their redemption. If Jesus was a righteous man, how was He able to perform all those miracles?

Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, and He healed all that were oppressed of the devil.

God anointed a man with the Holy Spirit and the power of the same Spirit. He had supernatural power because He was submitted to the Father, not because He was the Son of God. Jesus came to offer Himself for the life of all sinners, to restore them back to the Heavenly Father. When a man accepts Jesus as His Savior and then makes Him Lord of His life, God will anoint that man with the same power that Jesus had. If a man chooses, he can have the same righteousness that Jesus had and the same Holy Spirit. God will love him just like He loved Jesus. The religious minded folks cannot accept this truth that God put in the Bible.

John 14:12 He that believes on Me, will do the works I have done, and they will do greater works.

How can we as mere men do the works of Christ and even greater works? When you believe in Jesus you share in His righteousness and you will have the same anointing He had. We have a new beginning and we begin like Jesus began. We are no longer just men, we are new creatures that reflect the image of Christ. The devil thought that if he could kill Christ that would be the end of it, but he released a whole bunch of little Christs. The most important part of our lives doesn't begin until Jesus is invited to come and make His abode within us.
