Fulfilling Prophecy

The Bible is a book of prophetic words spoken by the Old Testament Prophets and the New Testament Apostles. Most of the prophecies have been fulfilled but not all of them. God is saving the best for last. All the prophecies spoken by the present day prophets can be traced back to the Bible.

The Word and the Spirit always agree.

We are not obligated to believe everyone claiming to be a prophet, not anyone who gives a word! The Bible is very clear on what a prophet must do to be considered valid.

Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

A true prophet must prove him or herself to be a voice for the Lord. Under the old covenant if a prophet gave a  word  that turned people to other gods, he was to be stoned. If you fully understand  the ministry of the prophet, you won’t be so determined to
“practice” in the function. Years ago, Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland brought a lot of understanding and much credibility to the office of the prophet. I had to deal with several people who “thought” they were qualified to emulate these two prophets. I bought a book entitled “Ministry of the Prophet” by Kenneth Hagin. Whenever someone would claim to be prophet I would sit them down and we would read the qualifications of the prophet. That little book was responsible for disqualifying a lot of “prophets”.

Haggai 2:9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, says the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, says the LORD of hosts.

I have read this prophecy over and over and have seen a small portion of glory, but not to the degree that the prophets say is coming! The latter house is not a building, it is a body of last day believers. We see the glory in the lives of Elijah and Moses and they were unsaved men. What will God do in the house of the righteous where His spirit is welcome? My attitude towards prophecy is to sit back and see if it will come to pass. I have been wrong!

Psalm 96:3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. Vs. 4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

When we read or hear a prophetic word given by a proven voice, the next step is to declare it. Most of what God does is directed at the heathen. He wants them to know there is a God who can save to the uttermost. When we declare His glory we are giving Him praise before He does anything. When we decree a thing it’s because we believe it. Our faith is instrumental for the fulfilling of prophecy. The prophets foretold the birth of     Messiah and when the day came very few believed it. We can’t stop prophecy, but I believe we can delay it because we don’t declare it. We must speak what we hear and what we believe because God gave authority to men.

    OFFERING DECLARATION
Jesus was a giver and I want to be like Him.
I don’t always know what to give but He always knows.
When I give what He tells me, I will have supernatural increase.
I will be glad to give because the Lord loves a cheerful giver.
