home coming

When God created man He put him in a garden and would visit with him in the cool of the day.  The Garden of Eden was a type of the kingdom, a place where God and man occupied simultaneously.  The devil had been banished to the earth but he had no place in the garden or anywhere else for that matter.  The only power the devil had was lying thoughts, he would use these to lead Adam to destroy himself.
 
Romans 6:16 ...to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness.
 
When Adam broke God’s one commandment, he was no longer the servant of God but rather the servant of satan.  Adam was cast out of the garden, God divorced Himself from His man.  Adam had no place in God’s kingdom because he became spiritually dead, he would no longer converse with God in the cool of the day.  Adam was now in the devil’s kingdom, the kingdom of darkness, he became a child of wrath along with all of his descendants.  God never stopped loving Adam and He had a back up plan waiting to redeem His man.
 
Hebrews 2:14 ...that through death Jesus would destroy him that had the power of death, the devil.
 
Man was not God’s problem, it was the spiritual force that was controlling all of mankind.  Man could not get himself free because he didn’t know who he was in bondage to.  Man was born with the inherit will to sin and oppose all that is good.  God had to separate man from his illegitimate stepfather and change his nature in order to make it permanent, we are talking about a major miracle here.  It would require the Son of God to be born a human being and to live a righteous life that no man after Adam was able to do.  This man would have to be hung on a tree where God would have to curse Him.  Then He had to die and be sent to hell where He would be resurrected three days later.  Jesus would have to endure all of this in order to rescue a bunch of sinners who had no idea what was going on.
 
Colossians 1:13 Jesus has delivered us from the power (kingdom) of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
 
When a person is born-again, all they know is that they won’t have to go to hell and that’s really all they know.  They didn’t know that the devil was their father and they were acting just like him.  What all converts need to do is get acquainted with their new and true Father.  How does one recognize his Father if he doesn’t know who He is?  If you don’t know your Father, then anyone could come along and claim that position!  Being aware that you have been carried into the kingdom of God is the anniversary of your home coming.  It’s easy to recognize the voice of your true Father, He always speaks from a heart full of love, something you never heard much of.  Give God the time and opportunity to show you around your new place, it’s outa this world.  The kingdom of God is a nice place, it’s like living in a lush, fruitful garden with no pests.  The devil can’t enter this new kingdom, he stands on the outside and hurls temptations.  The deeper you go into the kingdom, the further away from the devil you get.  Selah.
