Factory Reps

     Every year they have an event at the golf course they call, “demo days”. All the factory representatives come from all the major golf equipment manufacturers. These men are experts in their field and they can answer all your questions as you try out  their equipment. I have the equipment, but I can’t explain to anyone how any of it works. I do not have the experience the factory reps have.
 
     I just listened to the CD of a spirit-filled brother whom I know and respect. As I listened to his message, something began to stir in my spirit. The brother taught me some good Word, but something was lacking. I took the matter into prayer. Perhaps, I needed some correction! I knew only the Lord could reveal what I sought to understand. I then began to see it. This brother shared the Word, but not from his experiences with the Lord. He taught what he had been taught, but he had no personal encounters with the Lord Himself. He was not a factory rep, he was a spokesman.
 
Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him.
 
     To walk with Christ you will pray and obey whatever He gives you to do. This kind of lifestyle will translate into testimonies of personal encounters with the Master. When the Lord speaks to you directly to your spirit, we call this revelation. Every born-again believer has the God-given right to hear God’s thoughts for himself. How can one represent Heaven if one does not hear from Heaven?
 
Acts 4:13 When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled: and took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
 
     Peter and John were factory reps. They knew all about Jesus and they could answer all their questions. Why did Jesus send the Holy Ghost? To reveal Jesus to whosoever wants to know Him. There is one thing that really irks me! People write to “Dear Abby” and ask her about Scriptural etiquette. I have nothing against the woman, but she clearly is no authority on the Word of God. She is not a factory rep. she represents all the citizens of the world and it’s worldly system. There are some Peters and Johns among us today. They will show you the way to God’s presence.
 
Philippians 3:17 Brothers, be followers together of me and mark them which walk so as you have us for an example.
 
     There are good men and women in the Body of Christ today that have an ongoing personal relationship with Jesus. I follow after them as they follow after Christ. They are factory reps. My favorite preachers are those who have been with Jesus. They have the ability to present Jesus in a new and living way. They make it feel like He’s right there with you. We owe it to the world to get in His presence and share our experience with them. Everyone has an invitation to the presence of the Lord and not to just hear about Him. Who do you represent? A church? Some doctrine? An idea? Endeavor to be a factory rep and show the world the real Jesus?
