your thought life

If you have a mind, then you know full well about all the good, bad and weird thoughts that introduce themselves to you.  Some thoughts are so bizarre we don’t even want to share them with anyone.

Proverbs 23:7 For as you think in your heart so are you.

Those thoughts that enter our mind can have a profound affect on our lives.  If you are wise you will determine the source of your thoughts, sort out the evil ones and hold fast to the good ones.  All thoughts originate from one of two sources, the Lord our God or the god of this world, the devil.  What about all of our modern technology, where did those thoughts and concepts come from?  The Lord our God gives us the knowledge of witty inventions.

If you think you can, you’re right.  If you think you can’t, you’re right.

Why do you choose to listen to people who think life is impossible and too hard to live successfully?  I like what the Christian conservative Paul Harvey use to say on his daily broadcast: wash your mind out with this.  Paul Harvey always had a positive, upbeat broadcast every day, he was always encouraging.  So, how do we develop a positive, can do attitude that we can live with?

Romans 12:2 Do not be molded by the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and then you will prove to yourself, what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

Sitting around hoping things will improve is an exercise in futility, it’s like telling a stove to give you heat and then you will give it wood.  We need to be proactive when it comes to renovating our minds, they don’t just change for no reason.  If you are a student of the world system you are filling your mind with contaminated material, that makes your task that much harder.  Judas was a committed thief, so the devil knew exactly what to target, Judas offered no resistance.  Despite the prophetic warning of Jesus, Judas thought he was doing the right thing by betraying the Master.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 If our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost.  In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not.

The devil can be very convincing when it comes to opposing the Lord, he can sound like it’s the right thing to do.  The devil had no problem blinding the mind of Judas.  How can we know when the devil is inundating us with his thoughts and schemes?  He will always put the emphasis on us, he will not mention God unless it is to misquote Him.  If he blinds your mind you won’t think in line with God’s Word and you will feel good about the error he presents you.

When you hear the thoughts of God they will be thoughts of peace and not of evil, and they will indicate something good is coming.  Don’t trust your thought life to anyone but Jesus, we can’t afford to act on the thoughts of the devil, we don’t want to be a loser like him.

OFFERING DECLARATIONJust like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.
God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.
What He did for them, He will do more for me.
I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
