becoming yourself

No one is born into this world by accident.  No man can exist and the Father not know about it.  There is a man in the Bible called Jephthah, he was the son of a prostitute.  He never knew who his father was and he had no family life.  He became the leader of a band of outcasts, men who were spurned by the main stream of society.  When the Ammonites attacked Israel, they asked Jephthah to fight for them.  He defeated all of the Ammonites and became one of the judges of Israel.  Jephthah was despised and snubbed by men, but he was promoted by God.

Hebrews 12:9 Should we not be in subjection unto the Father of all spirits and have a good life?

God knows everything we have ever done.  He even took the time to count the hairs on our heads.  Why does He do this?  Because He cares for us. He is interested in us and He wants a relationship with us no matter what anyone else thinks.  If we have issues and baggage He will straighten us out, after all, He is the creator of all spirits.  For this reason we must never be offended by the Word of God.  Everything God says in the Bible is based on love.

1Corinthians 15:10 I am what I am by the grace of God.

No matter who you are or who you were born of, God has a grace that will enable you to be the best.  When we try to be something we were not born to be, there is no grace for our project.  Paul was a Pharisee who was out to destroy the church of Jesus Christ, but grace made him an apostle of the church.  God’s grace is His supernatural power that enables us to be what we were born to be.  When people surrender to this grace they no longer struggle in life.  They know who they are and what their mission in life is.  No one will be truly happy trying to be something they were never born to be.

Galatians 1:15 It pleased God to separate me from my mother’s womb and call me by His grace, to reveal His Son in me.

God was pleased the day Paul was born, he was not pleased when Paul grew to hate Christians.  Paul loved God but not according to knowledge or the truth.  He thought he was doing God a favor by persecuting Christians.  Jesus spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus but that did not change Paul’s mind!  It was God’s grace that transformed Paul, grace is in God’s Word.  If we will give ourselves to the Word grace will find its way into our innermost being.  The Holy Ghost is the spirit of grace, He is the supernatural power in manifestation.  He is so smooth and tender, one scarcely knows they are being molded into the image of God.

Mark 5:15 When the people came to Jesus, they saw the man who was possessed with a legion of demons and in his right mind.

The devil actively works to persuade folks to be someone they imagine to be and not themselves.  If we subject ourselves to the influence of the devil we will not be in our right mind.  How can anyone be themselves if they minimize the lifestyle of someone else?  Give yourself to the Word of God and His grace will empower you to be you.
