a fresh start

During the course of a man’s life he will have many opportunities to get a fresh start on his life.  Maybe life has overwhelmed us or we are paying the debt of some poor choices.  After some counseling, some forgiveness and prayer we look for a place to start over again.  Some folks just don’t care.  They continue to wade through their problems and hope for a break.  We are just days away from the beginning of a new year, a new season, a new chapter of our life.  According to tradition some folks make resolutions to start the year and they are sincere for a week or two.

Luke 14:28 Which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost whether he has enough to finish it.

Very few of us ever count the cost we must pay in order to fulfill our resolution.  Change puts a huge demand on our lifestyle.  It can be very difficult to climb out of the ruts we have lived in for so long.  Allow me to offer some advice, if you choose to make a change for the course of your life, choose something small you are sure you can do.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.

Alterations are difficult in the beginning but a true visionary is always focused on the completion of his goal.  Jesus was able to endure the cross because He was focused on all the sinners who would repent after His ordeal.  His sacrifice would give a lot of folks a fresh start in life, they would begin with no burden of sin.  I coined a phrase long ago: A journey of one mile begins   with one step!  Getting started on doing something good is always the most taxing.  Getting your carcass out of bed every morning is the beginning of your day.  You overcome it every day, so you’re a champion every day.

2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy came not at any time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

I am totally convinced we are on the verge of a move of the Holy Spirit that none of us have ever seen before.  I believe the gifts of the Spirit are going to be amplified many times over and miracles of great magnitude will abound.  We are undoubtedly in the last days and God is not going to let the devil have the last word.  I see God stepping all over the devil and sweeping multitudes of men into the kingdom of God.  The devil will be a silent witness as he watches the miracle of the new birth sweep over the entire world that he thought he had dominion over.

Luke 2:26 It was revealed unto Simeon by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

I have a petition before the Lord, I want to see His power and glory in manifestation before I leave this world.  I want to watch Him transform lives right in front of me, I want to see because I believe.  I want to see the vision He gave me fulfilled in the churches, I want to see the joy of the Lord on the faces of the people.  So, many overnight will get fresh starts, as God gives them a life they couldn’t dream big enough to consider.  Time for something new, time for the refreshing.

Just like the women who helped Jesus, I too can be like them.

God will receive my offerings and use them to build His church.

What He did for them, He will do more for me.

I don’t give donations, rather I sow seed and I will reap a harvest, so help me God.
