a change of life

What and who we are when we are born into this world is not always who we will remain.  We are born into this world spiritually dead, we have no connection with God on any level.  If nothing changes we will slip off into eternity and never get to meet Jesus.  It is never God’s will for any man to go to hell, He tasted death for all men.  God has arranged for all men to hear the Gospel so they can choose for themselves a place in eternity.  There is one exception:

Romans 2:14 When the gentiles who have not the law, do by nature the things in the law, become a law unto themselves.

Every human will have an opportunity to be saved and spend eternity in heaven.  Some men will claim they never heard the Gospel.  The Lord will respond to them something like this, “I sent you My Word but you would not listen to Me.”  God loves us just the way we are but He loves us too much to leave us that way.  No man will reach his full potential until he changes his heart convictions.

John 3:3 Jesus said, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God is the place where God performs His works, it is the supernatural power of God.  But many of those who are born-again never get to fully peer into this realm.  They do not grow past the new birth for a variety of reasons, none of which are valid.

1 Peter 2:2 As new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby.

Some folks remain babies all their lives, they do not choose to grow in Christ.  They want to be treated like adults but they act like babies because they are.  The entire purpose of being born-again is to become an entirely new creature.  God has a place in His kingdom for all of His people, but the positions call for adults to fill those spots.  It’s never hard to grow up but it can be a little difficult to act like you have.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will prove to yourself what the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is.

We grow up in Christ when we allow God to change our way of thinking.  Anyone can think natural thoughts but only a babe in Christ can think like God.  When you get transformed you perceive things the way Christ perceives them.  You see what He sees without judgement, it is a much different world.  The more we change the greater blessing we become to people and the Lord.  We can go through such a drastic transformation that the devil can’t even recognize us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Old things are passed away, and all things are become new.

I am so relieved that all the stupid things I did in the past are wiped out and forgotten.  It is very difficult to start a new life if we are saddled with baggage.  God makes us new creatures for a new life.  The first thing I noticed was that God began to call me son, He never used to call me anything, but now I am son.
