If you have been a Christian for any length of time, you have met people who just don’t like you.  More than likely you have tried to figure out what you did to draw all this hatred but you could not.

John 15:18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated  Me before it hated you.

The reason some folks hate you is because of your association with Jesus!  So, let’s advance our question in order to gain some understanding.  Why did they hate Jesus?

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you; but Me it hates because I testify of it, that the works there of are evil.

The people who heard Jesus hated Him because He told them the truth because He so loved the world.  Nothing has changed, people to this day do not appreciate being told the truth.

John 18:37 … all who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.

Whosoever will live in denial will oppose who offers him the truth, this certainly means God Himself.  Some men hate the truth so much they feel justified in killing the messenger.  If you have surrendered to the truth you will have a difficult time trying to understand the hardness of their hearts.  You can see this in the political arena, many hate the new president because he is not acting like he should.  The president is changing the status quo, he is stepping on the traditions of the career politicians and they are furious.  One of the first things the Lord told me when I was called into ministry was be prepared to change your ways at all times.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 If the truth be hid, it is to them that are lost (separated).  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the truth of Christ’s glorious Gospel should shine unto them.

Now we have gotten to the core of the issue, satan is planting his beliefs in the thoughts of every willing soul.  No man who is being deceived will admit to his deception, he must first be delivered.  For the first thirty years of my life I was steeped in religion, this was “my” truth.  But when the Lord gave me the Holy Spirit, He began to lead me into all truth.  It was then that I came to realize that my faith was in things Jesus never said!  The only thing that can expose deception is the truth, and Jesus is the only source of truth.  How do we receive anything from someone we hate?

Psalms 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man who believes Him.

A lot of people are afraid to accept what the Lord says, He may expose some things that are erroneous.  The only way to become a Christian is to confess you are wrong and He is right.  God gives grace to the humble but never to the prideful, people in pride oppose God and themselves.  If you identify with Christ you will be hated because some people are too prideful to give God an opportunity to speak into their lives.  Wanna confound them?  When they hate you respond with the Love of God.

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
