WHEN LOVE FAILS

The Bible says love never fails and I truly believe what God has said, love never fails.  Now that we have that settled, let me show you when love fails.  A lot of good people have visited our church over the years but they never stayed long.  We loved them, gave them money and special attention but it was not enough for them.  They were looking and waiting for something to offend them so they could justify their departure.  There were a few that had legitimate reasons for leaving.  They came and talked to us, we blessed them and wished them well.  So did love fail?  No!

We walked in love the whole time they were here but there are people that you cannot love enough to satisfy them!  God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, but for some folks He didn’t do enough.  They rejected God but He never stopped loving them because love never fails.

John 15:18 If the world hate you (love you less) you must know that it hated Me before it hated you.

Love has no power; no benefits until it is received.  It always looks for a place to manifest.  Love never fails to offer itself to those who need love.  It can be rejected but not destroyed, because love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:6 Love rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

The word rejoice appears twice in this verse.  Love is never happy, glad or cheerful about sin.  When truth is presented, love is glad and congratulates those who love the truth.  When some folks are dedicated to a particular sin they want acceptance and support.  They want the world and the church to celebrate diversity.  No matter what cute little name you call sin, it changes nothing, it is still sin.  Some folks in sin get offended because love won’t look the other way, love tells them the truth and rejoices in it.  The folks who walk in love are accused of hate because they are passing judgement.  But hold on here, are they really judging or are they presenting God’s judgement?  Love fails these folks because it will not agree with the fate sin will bring into their lives.

Love fails when it is rejected.  Love is still love but it has no opportunity to manifest.  God loves all men, He is committed to bring salvation to every man.  He will love all men right up to the day when they depart for hell for all eternity.  He loves them so much He gave them the power to choose where they would spend eternity.  All those folks He loves, He invites to Heaven but some love the world more than Heaven.

John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.

If you study the ten commandments closely you will come to one conclusion.  If you keep all the commandments you will be walking in love.  If you keep all the commandments you will love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself.  Love is not a feeling, it is a commitment to treat people the way you want to be treated.  Greater love hath no man than he lay his life down for his friends, in other words he puts the needs of others before his own.  Love never fails.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
