Everyone will deal with trauma at one time or another in their life. Trauma has varying degrees of intensity going from mild to the worst that could happen. Some folks find a way to successfully overcome it, while others carry the incident with them their entire lives. Some folks deal with it better than others, so the lasting affects are determined by the individual. What can we do to become one of those people who overcome the pain of trauma?
Ephesians 5:16 Redeem the time because the days are evil.
The word redeem means to improve on your opportunities. Get yourself in shape for evil days, the devil is out and about ministering as much hell as he can put in folks lives. He especially hates people who won’t serve him and he will do whatever he can to traumatize them. The devil got his play book from God! He just takes God’s Word and does the opposite. The devil will continue his evil activity in our lives until after the tribulation period and then he will be locked away. We would be wise to spend time getting built up with the word and making the devil’s job more difficult for him.
Philippians 3:13 Forget those things which are behind, and reach out unto those things which are before.
We all must be smart enough to know that we can’t change the past, it’s done and over. Often times people carry the past around with them every day, it becomes a ball and chain around their ankle making it very difficult to move on. One of the greatest contributing factors of trauma is the death of someone you love with all your heart. I can help you with this. Make the decision to separate the good memories from the way they departed. We need to hold fast to the good times and forget the manner in which they left. It’s the memories that keep us connected to people we cannot touch and hold. If we give time the opportunity, it will heal wounds and sooth scars.
Philippians 4:8 Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, think on these things.
The Apostle Paul was in prison when he wrote the letter to the Philippians and everyone agrees it was the most uplifting and joyous letter he ever wrote. Paul was in prison but he never let prison get into him, he kept his mind on Jesus and all His promises. You would think that prison would create a cell full of trauma but Paul kept his mind on his Lord and Savior. This is all real, bad things do happen to good people but God and His grace are just as real. God cannot take away the pain you feel when someone you’re close to dies because your relationship was founded in love. How does God help a grieving person? Grace. God’s grace is His supernatural power that enables us to do things we can’t do on our own. The devil is real, so trauma is real. God is real, so grace is real. Don’t let the devil traumatize you, there are people here who love you and need you.
I tithe by my faith in God,
He will open the windows of Heaven.
He will give me many blessings, He will honor my faith.
I cannot please my Father without faith, so I lend my ear to His Word.
My faith will not fail me
because my Lord will not fail me.
