Compromise has got to be the biggest mistake a Christian can make. The Lord told King Saul to attack the Amalekites and kill them along with their animals. But Saul compromised, he brought back King Amalek and the animals for sacrifice. His compromise cost him his anointing, his respect, his peace, and his life. Samson compromised and it cost him his eye sight, his power, his position, and his life. Adam compromised and it cost him his sonship, his image, his home, and his relationship with God. The nation of Israel compromised and they wandered in the desert for forty years until a whole generation died. Judas compromised and it cost him his discipleship and a place in Heaven.
Jude 1:4 Some ungodly people have wormed their way into the churches, saying God’s marvelous grace allows us to compromise our morals. These people are condemned, for they have denied our Lord Jesus the Christ.
Why are these teachers of error judged so harshly? Because the church is commanded to honor and obey all those in authority! God takes a very narrow view of men leading his babies astray. He says it would be better if a millstone be tied to their neck and cast into the sea. God orders the steps of a righteous man but compromise will put you on a different path. Brother Jim Baker and Brother Jimmy Swaggart compromised and now they will never regain the position God gave them. I’m sure they repented and they are forgiven but compromise cost them their place, it cost them their vision.
Luke 6:46 Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say.
When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, you sign up to give Him all the preeminence. If we could run our own lives we would not need Jesus, but we need Him because the devil is always trying to get us to follow him. The devil is the director of compromise and compromise is rebellion and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. The devil wants us to preserve our lives as they are, the Lord wants to save our lives and deliver us from the devil. There is no place for compromise among men that produce agreement, but God has no such place for anyone.
James 1:16 Do not err my beloved brethren.
James warns the Christians to avoid errs, these are flat out sins but they differ from compromise. When we err we enter into the temptation of the devil and all the while we know better. When we compromise we side step God’s will but we justify our decision. King Saul brought all the animals of Amalek to offer the Lord a sacrifice, he compromised. Peter betrayed Jesus, the devil was out to sift him as sand, he sinned. Peter made no excuse for what he did. He sinned, he admitted it, and Jesus forgave him. Folks who compromise will hold fast to their choice because they are convinced they are justified. King Saul thought he was justified because he knew God loves sacrifices, but he disobeyed and he could not justify himself. God will give us the desires of our hearts, there is no need to compromise to get what we want. Brethren, stay faithful to God. Don’t compromise for any reason.
Jesus received offerings
so the people could be blessed.
And Jesus was a giver,
He had Judas give to the poor. (John 13:29)
Jesus owned a house in Capernaum, He was a rich Jew.
But He became poor
so we could become rich.
PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
This celebration was established in 1992 with a mission of uplifting and encouraging pastors, missionaries and religious workers.
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
PRAYING BLESSINGS OVER
PASTOR JERRY & KATHY LAMPING
& PASTOR MANDY MOODY AND HER FAMILY
Praying 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, we wish above all things that you will prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”
Praying that God will continue to supply all their needs and answer their wants.
Praying they will see the fruit of their labor.
Pray and ask God how you may show your appreciation.
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
