The Spirit of Fear

Fear is a demonic spirit, his ministry is to convince you that bad things are coming your way. Since the days of your youth, he has had your ear. If you will look back on your life, a lot of things you feared never came to pass. But some did and that’s what you remember the  most. If you accept his temptation to fear then you will plan to expect the worse. Before faith came, I would stock my medicine cabinet with all the meds I would need for the flu season. Not everyone would take the flu, but I planned to have it. My fear never disappointed me.

2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us the spirit of fear; but He gave us the Spirit of power,  the Spirit of love and the Spirit of a sound mind.

God gave us His Spirit to enable us to deal with the spirit of fear. When you have a sound mind, you can control the thoughts  that come to your mind. You can accept them as needful and beneficial or you can cast them down. In every endeavor of your life, you can begin with a victorious attitude or a defeated attitude. Just before a football team takes to the field for the big game, the coach gets them thinking they will win. God is our coach. Before every spiritual event He takes time to prepare us for victory. The devil will tell you what you can’t do and the Lord tells you what you can do. In every case we must choose which one we will believe.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love (God) but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

What is perfect love? Perfect love is the revelation the Holy Spirit ministers to you, convincing you that God loves you. You will struggle to believe God will bless you until you first believe He loves you. Love is God’s motive for all the goodness He wants to bring into your life. So when the spirit of fear comes and speaks to you, the Spirit of love repels him with the promise of truth. When you know what God promises to do for you, you scarcely pay attention to the threats of the devil. Let me tell you how to antagonize the devil, just ignore him. Treat him like he is a big liar.

Joshua 1:9 Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed: for the Lord our God is with you wherever you go.

God spoke this to Joshua because he had an assignment. Well, we have an assignment that is just as important. How do you procure courage? How do you become courageous? By believing everything God has recorded in His Holy Bible. God says He will never leave us nor forsake us, if you believe that, you will be courageous. When the spirit of fear tries to feed you some lies, but you opt rather to believe God’s Word, you have courage. The whole world lies in wickedness because it doesn’t have the courage to believe God. You are not in wickedness, you’re in Christ. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. He does not have the power to do any of the things he says he will do. The devil gets his image and power from Hollywood. Men have cast the devil as a power equal to God. We get our image of the devil from God and God doesn’t think much of him.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
