As a young boy in a “Christian” school I was told that the Bible was too difficult for the “unlearned” to understand. It seemed like every time they wanted to drive their point home they referred to the book of revelation. I have come to discover that every Bible comes with a tutor! This private teacher is assigned to every born-again Christian.
1 John 2:27 The anointing which you have received abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but the anointing will teach you of all things, and will not lie.
The Holy Ghost is our anointing, He is our tutor, He will minister the truth of God’s Word to whosoever has a desire for truth. The people who have no faith for the Holy Spirit will challenge your assertion. How could you possibly have something they don’t have? In many cases the “educated” lord their “knowledge” over those who know less than they do. So, did God present His Word exclusively to the most educated?
Psalm 119:130 The entrance of the Lord’s words provide revelation; it gives understanding unto the simple.
My mentors had me convinced that I was too dumb to understand the Bible for myself! Now it took some time but the Holy Spirit showed me otherwise. I now know that the Bible is so easy to understand that I would need to get help to misunderstand it. When a man opens the Bible without the presence of the Holy Ghost, he will interpret the Bible based on his “sense” knowledge. This man will not comprehend what the Spirit is saying to the church, God’s Word will be foolishness to him. He will invent error and he will teach it to others. He will sound like an authority figure that does not know what he is talking about.
2 Corinthians 2:14 The natural man receives not the things of the Holy Spirit: for they are foolishness to him: he cannot know them because they are spiritually discerned.
A natural man can only understand what he can fathom with his five physical senses, anything out of his wheel house is foolishness to him. God never intended for His Word to be interpreted by anyone, it must be discerned, it’s the only way. When the Lord reveals something to me I feel like I’m the most blessed person in the world. I’m sure everyone feels this way at the entrance of light.
Acts 4:13 The priests were amazed when they saw the confidence of Peter and John, because they were ordinary men without teaching. They also acknowledged that they were with Jesus.
The priests were jealous because they had been to Bible school and Peter and John were just commoners. They believed they were the foremost authority on God’s Word and will, they claimed to know more than Jesus. How could these simple dudes know anything about the position the priests were called to? Could it be that God’s Word is so simple we think we must need to complicate it? God’s Word is concealed from the wise and educated, but it is revealed to babes and the humble.
February 9, 2020
Father, I am a tither, I know all the tithe belongs to You.
I know now that if I will obey You, You will open the windows of heaven and You will pour out my blessing.
I will be able to sow seed and You will rebuke the seedeater.
I thank You for revealing this to me. You take pleasure in my prosperity. I take pleasure in Your presence.
January is a month of fresh starts. It brings a “Do Over” mind set. Our commitment level is high. But by February we can already begin to lose momentum. Some areas we may have purposed to challenge ourselves are waning or we are stuck in the “planning” stage.
Strengthening our bodies
(To name a few)
The good news is we don’t have to do this all by ourselves. God says where two or more are in agreement. This month we purpose to pray for one another that we will faint not.
God is the one who began this good work in you, and He will complete it.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for we will reap the harvest if we don’t give up.
