When God established the law with Moses, He then established the priesthood. The priests came from the tribe of Levites, all priests are Levites but not all Levites are priests. God ordained the priesthood because he wanted someone to deal with what stood between Him and the people. The priesthood became a precarious position because a dishonest priest could manipulate the people to his advantage. Eli was one such priest, he misrepresented the Lord and allowed sin to reign in the temple.
Joel 2:17 Let the servants of the Lord, His priests, weep tears of repentance. Let them intercede and say; have mercy God, on the people, don’t let the heathen take and rule over them, saying where is their God?
The priests were instructed to live a hallowed life in order to be intercessors for the Lord. When Jesus began His ministry, most of His opposition came from the priests. The priesthood got away from its original intent and they lorded their position over the people. They were to stand between God and the people in order to bring the two closer together. But the people were presented a God that was fabricated by the priests. The priests preached goodness to the people but did not practice it themselves.
Revelation 1:6 We have been made kings and priests unto God and His Father.
The priesthood came to the cross of cavalry and was totally changed. We no longer need a man to stand between us and God, we have been made priests to offer our own gifts and sacrifices.
1 Peter 2:5 You, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
What are these spiritual sacrifices? We are the spiritual sacrifices, we became what Jesus died to make. As we labor to become the image of God we give Him the glory when we offer ourselves as new creatures to Him. The Holy Ghost stands between us and the Lord. He helps us to be what God wants us to be, sons of God. The Holy Spirit is not authorized to make us do anything, He comes to help us fulfill our godly choices. We are what we are by the grace of God, the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Grace.
1 Timothy 2:1, 4 I desire that first of all, intercessions and giving of thanks, be made for all men. For God would have all men to be saved.
As New Testament priests, we stand between God and the sinners, we are their intercessors assigned by God Himself. We offer prayers of redemption on behalf of the sinner, God does not hear the prayers of sinners but He hears us. We are not called to judge the sinner but rather to pray in their place and that will lead their salvation. We are their priest but they don’t know it. God loves them but they don’t know it. As we intercede for them the Holy Ghost comes and woos them into the Kingdom of God, some come in and some don’t but they are invited.

The kingdom of God is my storehouse, every good thing belongs to me.
God is cheering for me, He loves to see me receive from Him.
I was dying for the greatest day, now I live in the greatest day!
He defeated the seed eater for me, things I could not do for myself.
Father is blessing me with all heavenly things because I believe Jesus rose from the dead.
