A large number of churches know nothing about the power of God. My childhood church spoke of the miracles of Christ but Christ was gone. If a man or woman had proof of any miracles they would be “canonized” by the Pope after they died. Once the person is “canonized” they would be a “saint” and folks could pray to them to perform the miracle in their life. But in the modern day church there is very little power present to fulfill God’s will.
Acts 19:2 And Paul said, have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And they said to him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
These twelve men Paul spoke to represent the mainstream church, they know nothing about the Holy Spirit. If a church is going to have the power of God in manifestation they must believe and accept the Holy Ghost. Religion does not like the Holy Ghost because people begin to depend on Him and not the church leadership. I was committed to go to church every Sunday because if I missed I would got to hell! How do you worship a God who will send you to hell if you eat a piece of meat on Friday? I worshipped God because I was commanded to, not because He loved me. I was not a “true worshipper”, I was convinced that God would use His power to punish me!
Acts 2:6 When all the Jews that had gathered in Jerusalem heard the mighty wind in the upper room they ran to the site. But they were confounded because the people miraculously were able to speak in every man’s language.
The supernatural power of God is common among those who believe. The demonstration of His power is a sign and wonder to those who have yet to believe. The religious fools that oppose the Holy Spirit the most become the best stalwart convert. I had a lady friend that got filled with the Holy Spirit and demonstrated “tongues” to me. It took awhile but I also received the same gift she had. We must never be ashamed of the Holy Ghost, I will not apologize to anyone for the Spirit.
Mathew 10:33 Whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.
Peter got into fear and denied Jesus three times, but after Jesus rose from the dead He forgave Peter. Denying our Lord is not a good thing for us, but how many unbelievers will be swayed by our lack of conviction? The world and those who practice religion need to see and hear of the present-day work of the Lord. Jesus is still performing miracles, He has never withdrawn His supernatural power.
Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
God says the whole world will hear about His supernatural exploits. We have an obligation to believe, demonstrate and publish the works of our Lord. Everyone will hear but I don’t know how many will believe, my business is to testify. I love the power of God, it saved a wretch like me and it keeps me whole until the day I get caught up.
Jesus Redeemed me from the curse, no poverty, no lack in my house.
Wealth and riches in my home, the devil is rebuked for my sake.
Father daily loads me with benefits, He takes pleasure in my increase.
I love being redeemed,
and I give my Lord all the glory.
We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!
Scriptures to meditate on:
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.
2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.
2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
