Jesus gave all men His Word (will) and so all men have become responsible for what He says.  We will be judged in this life and the next with what we do or don’t do with His Word.

John 1:4-5 In Jesus was life; and His life was the light of men.  The light shined in darkness; and darkness comprehended it not.

God’s Word comes from His Spirit, it is eternal, unchanging and some have no desire for it.  When a man declines to accept the Word of God, who does he think he is coming against?  The Word of God can be accepted only one way.  A man must choose to have it, it cannot be forced onto anyone.  Men in darkness (ignorance) cannot comprehend the light because they don’t care anything about it.

2 Timothy 2:25 Humbly instruct those that oppose themselves; perhaps God will forgive them if they will acknowledge the truth.

Pride is the product of a fallen world.  If a man has enough of it he will be his greatest enemy.  Men are very resourceful and they can do a lot with their ingenuity, but they cannot deliver themselves from the bonds of this world.  When a man opposes himself, it is because he refuses to accept the truth of God’s holy light.  God resists the proud but He gives grace (power) to the humble.  Light is revealed knowledge and every man is responsible for the light that he has.

Mathew 26:26 Jesus took the bread and said, this is My body broken for you. Then Judas betrayed Him.

Judas was a Jew and he knew the commandments thou shalt not steal and thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods.  His lust for money was so strong he would betray the Son of God for thirty pieces of silver.  Evidently Judas figured they couldn’t harm Jesus and so when the soldiers began to beat Him he knew just how wrong he was.  Judas returned the money and went out to hang himself.  Jesus said it would have been better if he had never been born.

1 Corinthians 11:27 Whosoever will eat the bread and drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, will be guilty
of the body and blood of the Lord.

Judas ate the last supper, the Passover meal unworthily, he did not honor the sacrifice Jesus was preparing Himself to be.  If a man will recognize the light of the Passover meal, he will be forgiven and be guilty of nothing.  Jesus became sin for us, He became guilty for all of our transgressions.  However, Judas did not get cleansed from his guilt because he did not discern the Lord’s intent.  Peter did the same thing!  He told Jesus it was wrong for Him to be crucified and suffer and Jesus said to him, “get behind me satan for you savor not the things of God”.  Peter realized the error of his way and he repented with bitter tears.  Peter opposed himself until he acknowledged the truth, he got himself free of the devil.  The worst thing a man can do to himself is agree with the plans and the plots of the devil.  If we will assume the responsibility of our lives and invite Jesus to be Lord we will forever be free.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
