Prosperity

Whenever we use the Bible phrase prosperity, we are talking about spirit, soul and body.  We never have to sacrifice one for the other, the death and resurrection of Christ touched all three realms.  Once you understand this, you are free to study any three realms and remain balanced.

Psalm 31:19 How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.

God has laid up in store things that He created just for us, things we have yet to tap into.  Religion has taught many of us that poverty is a badge of humility.  I was taught that money was the root of all evil and if you don’t put your money in the offering plate you were robbing from God!  Religion will always contradict itself but if you tell the truth you don’t have to make anything up.

Deuteronomy 28:11 The Lord shall make you plenteous in goods in all that you own.

When you believe the Word of God and begin to have many goods, religion will label you as materialistic.  Materialism is when you go about meeting your own needs.  Religion cannot believe that God would make anyone plenteous in goods, they do not perceive God being that good.  So,  if you desire to walk in the prosperity God promises those who fear Him you will need to ignore the doctrine of men.  Let me give you the key that opens the door to all of the goodness God has laid up for you.

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangs on a tree.

Poverty and lack are a part of the curse and it has become the doctrine of religion.  But Jesus hung on a tree in order to redeem us from the curse of lack.  If a man believes lack is a badge of humility, he dishonors Christ’s sacrifice on the cross!  To this man, Christ’s time on the cross was a waste of time, he does not revere God.  Therefore, all the goodness God has stored up is not for this man.  This man can still have a measure of prosperity but he will need to toil in the field and live by the sweat of his brow.

Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse and I will open over you the windows of heaven.

God is only asking for a dime off each dollar and in exchange He opens the flood gates of heaven and pours out blessings without measure.  God will do things for a tither He won’t do for other people.  It’s not about money, God does not need our money, He is after our obedience.  Our faith is more precious than gold, faith is believing God and acting on what we believe.  When a tither sows a seed, the Lord protects that seed and rebukes the devourer that comes to eat our seed.  We cannot prosper spirit, soul and body without Jesus and He takes pleasure in our prosperity.  To us prosperity is being increased with goods.  To God prosperity is people who believe Him without reservation.  Folks, it’s OK to expect more from God, after all, it’s His idea.

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
