The Passover event took place in Egypt where Israel had been in bondage for four hundred and thirty years. God told Abraham, when He made covenant with him, that his descendants would be slaves to the Egyptians for four hundred and thirty years. God used Moses to perform ten terrible plagues in an effort to get pharaoh to release God’s people. The last plague would be God’s judgement against all the gods of Egypt. God told the people to kill a lamb, put its blood over their homes, and then eat the lamb. The event would be called the Passover. An angel would visit the land and smite the first born of every family, but where there was blood he would pass over that house. Egypt lost all of their first born but no Jews died.
Exodus 12:14 This day shall be a memorial for you as a feast forever, throughout all generations.
Israel celebrated the feast of Passover once a year. They killed a lamb, put the blood on their dwelling and ate the lamb. Jesus went to Jerusalem every year to celebrate the Passover with His mother and father.
Mathew 26:2 You know that in two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man will be betrayed and crucified.
Jesus tells His disciples that He will be slain during the feast of the Passover, the timing was not a coincidence. The Passover meal He shared with His disciples would be the last supper He would have with them. Jesus would be the last Lamb ever offered for the Passover feast. He was God’s Lamb, not man’s. He told them the bread was a type of His body and the cup was a type of His blood. They did not comprehend what He said to them. He said He was going to die so they were afraid to question Him. After His resurrection He explained to the Apostle Paul what He said at the last supper. Jesus became the eternal sacrifice. No more lambs need to be offered, it is finished.
1 Corinthians 5:7 For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.
When we eat the Passover bread we partake of His life and when we drink the cup all of God’s judgements “Passover” us. Israel’s lamb had to be taken every year because it was a natural offering. But the New Testament believer who eats the Passover meal of God’s Lamb has His life within himself forever. The sacrifice is complete and finished. We are redeemed and protected whether we take the Passover meal or not! We take the Passover, we now call communion, to remind ourselves of what Jesus did for us.
Plead the blood.
Pleading the blood is our way of drawing the devil’s attention to what Jesus did for us. The blood of the lamb is gone but the blood of God’s Lamb is eternal. It separates us from the works of the devil. When we plead the blood, we remind the devil of his defeat at the cross of Christ. We are redeemed because cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. The devil’s defeat was made complete when Jesus rose from the dead. When we plead the blood, the devil must pass over us, he may not touch down or land on us. We must all come to one main conclusion; God loves us so much He sent His only Son to be our Passover Lamb.
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the ungodly bear rule, the people mourn.
We just had four years under righteous authority and we were glad. For the next four years it looks like we might be under an ungodly regime, they have a form of godliness but deny God’s power. I want to draw your attention to something very important, God is still on His throne. He was never voted off.
John 16:33 I have spoken to you that you should have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Where does tribulation come from? It comes from leaders who are under the authority of satan! Tribulation is persecution, the devil will do whatever he can do to get us to ignore what Jesus did for us. So here is the deal, we can have tribulation or we can have peace, the choice is ours. I know a lot of people who love tribulation, it gives them something to whine about because some people enjoy being the victim. I know people that every time I see them they have to tell me how tough life is and how they are treated unfairly. When the devil hears people whining and complaining he takes it as praise for himself. I do not deny the existence of tribulation, I deny it’s attempt to be a part of my life. Tribulation will hang with you just as long as you want it to!
2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us the spirit of fear: but the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
Once again we are given a choice, we can have the spirit of fear or we can have a strong mind. No one in their right mind would choose fear, so why do so many choose it anyway? Because they don’t know any other way. A Christian should know better but when tribulation comes they forget the promise of a sound mind and peace. I can say one thing about the devil that is true, he is reliable. He will come and try to bring hell into our lives.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or stress, persecution, lack, peril or death?
Love is a commitment and God is committed to remain with us no matter the circumstances. Isaiah the prophet said: a man will have perfect peace whose mind is stayed on God. So, here is our option. We can keep our mind fastened to the tribulation or we can keep our mind on our Deliverer. Do you understand what happens when you focus on Jesus? You have a peace that passes all understanding. I don’t have time to consider fear, I spend most of my time considering God and all His ways. When I was growing us as a young boy I think I was the most fearful kid in town. I was always imagining the worst outcome of everything. I attended a church and a “Christian” school but I had no peace. I never even knew it was available. Thank God for the Bible and the Holy Ghost Who guides us into every truth in the Book. I am not afraid. Fear will change nothing but God will if we believe. I have no time for fear.
Every one of us have had times when we really needed God immediately. We will say or think, where is God? Is He busy with someone else? Is He hiding from me? We all know where He is, He is sitting on His throne of grace watching every thing about our lives.
Psalm 121:4 He will never slumber nor sleep; He is the guardian of His people.
The minute God hears our prayers or our cries He is ready to respond in His time. Think about this: if God responded immediately every time we called on Him, then He would be our servant! But we are His servants, so He deals with us and our problems in a manner He chooses. God is faithful and reliable, He always responds according to His Word. Remember that when the Apostle Paul was tormented by the messenger of satan he besought the Lord three times to get him off his back. What did the Lord say to him? He said “My grace is all you need.” God had a purpose for Paul to endure his hardship, so He gave him a supernatural empowerment to endure every fiery dart of the evil one. God’s grace was so affective in Paul’s life that he began to take pleasure in the persecution and stress from the devil.
John 16:33 In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
No matter what the devil throws at us, Jesus has already defeated it, but he never gives up trying to make our lives unblessed. The devil is defeated well before he initiates his plans for our lives, our hope is in the Lord even before He shows up. We are a people in search of our victory, we are not to “try” anything we are to just do it. Let me share a little secret, the devil is more afraid of us than we are of him. Why do Christians walk around with a defeated attitude? Because they don’t know any better! Religion has offered Christians a devil that is equal to God in power! The Bible tells us that Jesus stripped the devil of all the power he took from Adam, Jesus disarmed him for all eternity.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your care over on to the Lord; for He cares for you.
What happens when a believer takes on the burden of caring for himself? God sits back and lets us do what we want to do, He will not come down and wrestle your worries away from you. If you call for God to help you but continue to deal with your problem you are double minded. God will not intervene unless He is given all authority, He does not need our help. Who do you think can handle our problems the best, us or God? One of the major reasons we doubt God’s divine intervention is because He handles things differently than how we think He ought to.
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
I dare say, God is far more committed to us than we are to Him. He is far more reliable than we are.
God is hiding in plain sight.
Don’t ever let the devil lead you to believe that God is ignoring you, remember the devil is a liar. God never hides from us and we have no place to hide from Him.
John 14:16 I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.
When Jesus began His earthly ministry, He became a voice of comfort for all who would listen to Him. The people were spiritually dead, they had no revelation concerning God’s will for them. They could not understand Jesus because He thought differently and did not share their fears. At times Jesus became frustrated with them because they could not comprehend what He taught them. One of the last things He spoke to them before He left was that He would send them another Comforter to take His place. We cannot understand nor accomplish God’s will without a spiritual Comforter.
John 16:13 When He, the Holy Spirit of truth is come, He will lead you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatever He shall hear, that shall He speak.
The Holy Spirit will say the same things that Jesus said, the difference is He will be speaking to folks who are no longer spiritually dead. Who is the Holy Spirit speaking to? He is speaking to whosoever has ears to hear, in other words, to people who believe God is speaking to His people. God is speaking to you, if you believe you will hear Him, if you don’t believe you will hear nothing. We have an invitation, a right to hear God’s voice, so we must press into this promise with a determination. Once I knew it was God’s will that I hear Him, I would not quit until I heard His voice.
Luke 11:9 Ask, and keep on asking and it will be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find, knock and keep on knocking and it will be opened to you.
God’s voice was never intended to be a one time and done experience, He will speak to us every day. God is so miraculous He can communicate with us by His inward witness. We can interpret His thoughts and feelings, He can respond to our questions before we ask. As a baby Christian, I learned that our Lord would answer all of my questions and that caused me to grow much more quickly. Confidence comes from knowing who you are, what you are to do, and how you are to do it. Every time I hear His voice I feel comforted and peaceful. This is a whole lot better than moping around all day.
Luke 12:11-12 When the religious fools bring you before the authorities and powers, take no thought what you will say. For the Holy Ghost will teach you what to say at that time.
No man can withstand the wisdom of God, in just a few words He can disarm every contrary voice. You must come to know His voice before you need it, Christians by their very lifestyle convict the sinner of their sins. How can you know God will speak to you when you need Him? You will have no fear but be full of confidence. O say can you hear? Yes you can. If you are a believer you can have no legitimate excuse for not hearing your Father speak to you. Press into His will, His promises and know the joy of His Words.
Everyone is afraid of something, at some point early on in our life someone opened a door and let fear into our lives. Most people just learn to live with a fear that many people have overcome. Is it all right to let fear have its place in our life?
Romans 8:15 You have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba, Father.
Fear of any kind at any level will put you in bondage. You will be controlled by the fear you have yielded to. Yes brother Jerry, but there are a lot of other things I can do. But are we not supposed to be able to do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Making excuses for our fears is the same as accepting them! When we are born-again, we are translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. This is when we are made free. The devil preys on everyone but he can only afflict the ignorant, the redeemed are free because they say so.
Revelation 21:8 The fearful, all liars and the rest of the sinners will have their part in the lake of fire.
According to the book of revelation, being full of fear can have eternal consequences, so maybe we should be more serious about dealing with it. The word fearful in this text is referring to people who are faithless. They do not believe God, so consequently they could not deal with the demon of fear.
Faith created the devil, faith will control him.
Hebrews 2:14-15 Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death, the devil. To deliver them who through fear of death were subject to bondage.
All fear is based on our fear of death, but Jesus said whoever believes in Him will never die! It is very clear that the root of fear is a lack of faith, we know God’s Word/Will but do we trust it? One morning during hunting season I began to walk up a trail in the mountains two hours before sunrise. As I began to walk the devil spoke into my mind, he clearly said I would be mauled by a bear before the sun came up. As I continued up the trail I spoke out loud to the devil and I said this: Praise the Lord a bear is going to send me to Heaven this morning. I never heard from the devil again, he knew it would not work on me. At sunrise I shot a nice bull elk, just like I believed God I would.
All fear can be traced to the fear of dying, so we must get our faith established on our promise of eternal life. We are all going to die some day, it’s how we get our glorified bodies. But we must use our faith to remain healthy and alive because we have a course we must finish. If the devil can get us to accept his fear, he can hasten our demise.
Psalm 78:41 Israel turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
God was leading His people to a life better than they ever dreamed of, but they got into fear and limited what God was trying to do for them.
Fear puts limits on God.
Fear will limit where we can go and what God says we can do. Faith comes from hearing and hearing the Word of God. Fear comes from hearing and hearing the word of the devil. Please let me remind you, we are not obligated to listen to the devil. We can cast down every thing he says that is contrary to God’s Word for our lives.
God is love but there are things that love hates. He hates sin because His Son bore the sins of many. The Bible clearly points out six sins God really hates and one is disgusting to Him.
Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six evils God truly hates and a seventh that is an abomination to Him: Putting others down while considering yourself superior, spreading lies and rumors, spilling the blood of the innocent, plotting evil in your heart towards another, gloating over doing what’s plainly wrong, spouting lies in false testimony, and stirring up strife between friends. These are entirely despicable to God!
As I read these seven sins I wondered why these particular sins were so grievous to the Father. I didn’t wonder for long, the Holy Ghost showed me that these seven sins all have one thing in common. The Lord hates those seven particular sins because they all describe how we treat other people, especially a brother or sister. God loves us, died for us, forgives us, and blesses us. What do we do? Go out and do evil to everyone created in His image.
Consider Saul of Tarsus, he was a Jewish Pharisee and he was out practicing the seven sins that God hates. Jesus took it personal. He said to Saul, “Why do you persecute me?”
Mathew 25:40 Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of My brethren, you do it unto Me.
Jesus pointed out Saul’s error and gave him an opportunity to repent, which he did. It was Saul’s nature to hate and persecute those he was “superior” to. After he was born-again and filled with the Holy Spirit, he became a man of love and it cost him his life. Men who are not ashamed to hate other folks need God’s help, like Paul they need a life changing measure of grace. Paul was not commanded to change, he was graced to change.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.
Now we can see another reason God hates these seven sins, the man who engages in them is abiding in eternal death. God sent His Son to save the world not condemn it, we cannot live for the devil and expect God to bring us to Heaven with Him. The Bible talks about holiness. What is holiness? It’s hating what God hates and loving what God loves. Babies are born without any prejudice. Most babies have no fears, they know only love. A baby must be taught to have fear and to hate. Would it not be better if we just teach our babies to love?
We should not concern ourselves with the way people choose to live their lives. We should consider one thing, what can we do to help them. I do not agree with the politics of hate and I can’t change any of them, so I don’t listen to them and I pray God’s will for them. It has been said that God hates the sin but loves the sinner, the sinners have used this cliché to excuse their evil ways. The only one they deceive is themselves. I pray they come to be honest with themselves. We can offer to help people to get out of bondage, but if they don’t want out we can’t help them. I became a Christian because people told me the truth, they told me what Jesus did and that He loved me. After that I went seeking for this relationship and they helped me to accept Jesus. There is nothing greater than the love of God.
Everyone owns keys and they are not hard to understand, they either open things up or they lock things away. God has issued keys to all those who believe. The keys He has issued will open spiritual things to us. One day Jesus asked His disciples who men thought He was. Suddenly Peter got a revelation from the Holy Ghost and said you are the anointed one, the Son of God. Jesus commended Peter on his revelation and then told him what else the Father had for him.
Mathew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven: and …
Jesus went on and told Peter he would be given power to bind and loose. I want to deal with the keys of the kingdom. Peter received a great revelation but it would not be his only revelation. Jesus gave him the keys that would unlock the mysteries of the kingdom.
John 3:3 Truly I say unto you, except a man be born again he cannot see (into) the kingdom of God.
The only people God will entrust His keys to are the ones who are born-again, those who have invited the Holy Spirit of revelation into their heart. Dear Abby and denominations who do not teach the new birth, do not have access to the revelations of the Holy Ghost. Some born-again Christians have the keys of the kingdom, but they don’t use them or know how to. If God issues the keys to born-again believers, then there is no excuse for ignorance. The devil is so cunning he has managed to get some churches to oppose the Holy Spirit and get Him barred from their doctrine. God told the Apostle Paul to instruct those who oppose themselves very meekly.
Colossians 1:25-26 I have been made a minister of the mystery that for generations has been hid, but now is made manifest to the Saints.
The Apostle Paul had the keys to the kingdom of revelation. His responsibility was to help all men see what God intended for them. If you have yet to use your keys or don’t know how, then listen to those who know how to use their keys. Do not be foolish and get offended at brethren that know more than you do. If you will listen to those who use their keys, they will show you how to use your own keys. A lot of people know about God but they do not know Him. God reveals Himself to people who use their keys to unlock His character, these folks know their Lord.
Philippians 3:10 ...That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.
The Apostle Paul was nearing the end of his life, Jesus appeared to him and he was even caught up to heaven. Despite his association with Jesus it was not enough for Paul, he still wanted to know Him more intimately. The person of Christ is far bigger than any mere man, He is more than a man could comprehend in a life time. I don’t know if eternity will be long enough for us to know all there is to know about our Savior. Use the keys to open the treasure of knowledge our Lord has made available to all those who believe.
There are four places in the Bible that say the just shall live by faith. Living by faith is not an option, for without faith it is impossible to please God. Evidently God wants us to believe Him even when we don’t understand. Out in the wilderness Moses led Israel out of Egypt and their destination was the promised land. There were over two million people and they needed water because God had led them to a place where they had to trust Him for their survival. God told Moses to smack a rock with a stick and when he did water came out of the rock. God has a habit of telling His people to do things that defy common sense.
John 2:5 His mother said unto the servants, whatsoever Jesus says unto you, do it.
At the marriage supper in Cana, Jesus told the catering service to fill the large earthen pots with water and the water became wine. It is very clear to see what the key to miracles is, it is doing exactly what the Master says to do. Why does God tell men to do strange things? Because faith requires an action and obedience makes the way for a miracle. If you do not trust God you have no faith and you will not see Him move on your behalf.
Mark 6:6 He could do no mighty works there because of their unbelief, and He went about the village teaching.
God can do anything but when men don’t believe Him, He can do nothing. The earth, the fulness of it and all who dwell in it belong to the Lord. So if God created the world then He owns it and He gets to make all the laws and rules. Only a fool and the devil would argue with God concerning His ways. Resistance is futile, you will only end up harming yourself and those around you. If the kingdom isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Flow with God, He has the keys to success. Walking by faith is much easier than what men make it out to be, simply act like the New Testament is true.
Mark 11:23 Whosoever will say to this mountain, be removed and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, he will have whatsoever he says.
Faith is released in words. What are those words? They are the same words Jesus spoke, so you know they will be effective. Walking in faith is simply believing God every day of your life, so you must believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Faith is not some mysterious element of the supernatural, everyone has faith! People in the world have faith for all kinds of sickness and disease, they have faith for God’s punishment. How do you know what people are believing for? Just listen to the words coming out of their mouths. “I am so sick”, “I am so broke”, “Well, I’ll be damned”. Using words to have what you want did not originate in the Bible, having what God wants you to have comes out of the Bible. The world has faith and they use it to access the curse that the devil loosed into our world. Walk in the faith God gives to all those who believe and enjoy a blessed and victorious life.
The last four years have been great times for all Americans, especially the Christians. God had a president that flowed with His vision for America. But now it would appear we have a new president that does not show the same values of our former president. So, now what will our lives be like? Will this new administration legislate God out of our nation or will it govern with godly principles?
John 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of.
No matter what the convictions of the new president are, Jesus came to give us a life better than what we could dream of. Based on the president’s past decisions, I think the United States will suffer much anguish and set backs. But the true believers will thrive as they operate in the Kingdom of God. I do believe that if the true believers will hold fast to the Word of God and pray, the devil will struggle to influence the leadership. Our president is not a Christian, he is a Catholic and the two are not the same. Jesus said He came to give us a life beyond our ability to dream it. So, no matter who is leading our country they cannot hinder the promises of God.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 I exhort you to pray and make intercessions for all men, for kings and all leaders, that you may live a quiet and peaceable life.
Praying for the nation’s leaders will lead you to live a tranquil and undisturbed life. So, what and how do we pray? God’s purpose for intercession is to lead men to salvation, so our prayers must be founded on God’s will for men’s eternity. We must pray for all men as if we are praying for ourselves. What do we want God to do for us? If I was the president of a great nation I would want God to give me wisdom and courage. I would want to know how to keep America great and how to present every American with the opportunity to succeed. I would not be a respector of persons, love me or hate me, you would be treated like every other citizen of this great nation.
Mark 11:23 ... believe those things I have said and you shall have whatsoever you say.
In order for us to live the blessed life, we need to do two things: believe what our Lord has said and speak out what He says. Presidents and political leaders cannot hinder us from accepting the blessings, not even the devil can stop God. We can become our own worst enemy if we speak of what we see and hear our leaders are doing. Do not underestimate the power of intercessory prayer, our nation would be far worse off if it were not for the prayers of the saints.
Our calling is to pray, not to tell God how He should handle our leaders. God gave dominion to man, so when we pray we create an avenue for God to have access to whoever we pray for. If we don’t know what to pray that’s all right. The Holy Ghost knows what He needs from us. That’s what the gift of tongues is for, just let the Holy Spirit pray through us. The devil wants to rob from us and God wants to bless us. Pray God will have His way.
Mathew 21:12-14 Jesus went into the Temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves. And He said to them, it is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple and He healed them.
People who knew better were using God’s temple as a place to carry on their business. They were exchanging coins with men who came from other countries. They were selling doves to people who came to sacrifice them to God. God did not ordain churches for men to use for their businesses, they are for the Lord’s business. What is the purpose of a church? It is a place where believers can gather together for the sake of prayer. I don’t think Jesus could reason with these folks so He just threw them out. He reminded them what the purpose of the temple was; it was written by the Prophet Isaiah. Jesus had the right to expel these men because He was a Rabbi.
If they would have listened to Jesus they would have understood that everything they wanted could have come from prayers. Can we have fellowship with one another and leave God out of our association? Is He not the reason we love one another. We cannot pray the prayer of agreement until we are in agreement. What kind of prayer would the money changers pray or the sellers of doves?
After Jesus “cleaned house”, the folks who needed prayer came to Him and He prayed for them and they were healed. Those business men were hindering people from obtaining the ministry they needed. I believe Jesus knew what would happen when prayer was restored to the temple. Jesus created an atmosphere that the Holy Spirit would move in where He could bless the people. When we do things that grieve or quench the Holy Spirit, He cannot do what He is sent to do. Jesus had a lot of patience with people in the flesh until they quenched the Holy Spirit and then He addressed it. We in our ignorance have chased away the One we can’t live without, but we are growing and learning.
All churches in general have prayed for the needs of their church and ministry. But now I see the Holy Ghost calling all God’s churches together to pray for the existence of America. Now all of us have something we can agree to, something that will bind us together. I’m sure we don’t all pray alike, but not to worry God can put all that in order. With all the deception, the corruption and hatred in the world, God is the only one we can trust with our lives. Governments have embraced socialism to lead the people to trust in the system, they ignorantly want to be the people’s god.
The last four years was government of the people, the next four years will be government of the elites. If we stay in the House of Prayer we will live above the evil in this present world. When we pray, then God will take what men mean for evil and turn it into good for those who put their trust in Him. If your days are full of prosperity, peace and joy, it’s because you prayed.
The devil is a thief,
he has come to kill, destroy, and steal.
The devil has a word,
but my Lord has the final Word.
I choose to ignore the devil,
I don’t believe what he says.
I love the Word of my Lord,
He speaks only the truth.
His Name is greater than the thief, so I will be blessed.
YEAR OF THE LOCAL CHURCH
PRAYERS FOR OUR NATION
Protection for: People who are innocently being lured to America with false promises from our leadership. Lord, protect those people especially the children. Protect them and our nation from the flood of drugs, cartels, terrorists, traffickers and all the diseases that now have access to our cities and citizens. Post angels along our southern border. Expose the evil. Praying for our law officials and National Guard on the front lines. Give them protection and wisdom.
We pray in agreement with your Word: Luke 8:17 “Nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light”. Truth cannot be hidden. The truth sets us free. Jesus is the Way, Truth and Light! Give the Righteous leaders boldness, wisdom and strength as they fight on the front lines. Give them every tool they need to carry out your will Father. Every person who is in a place of authority that does not have a legal “God right” to be there will be transformed or removed.
ALL LEGAL MATTERS: We pray for those legally gathering up and exposing the enemy’s lies. Protection for them and their families. All cover-ups and deeds done in darkness against the United States of America will have complete exposure. God’s plans and purpose for America will prevail.
