We seem to always talk about our visions but do we ever stop to know God’s vision. What is God’s vision for the world?
1 Timothy 2:4 God will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
The rest of God’s Word is spoken in support of having all men to be saved. Every person Jesus healed were unborn again sinners, but they got a revelation of God’s love. If Jesus raised your baby from the dead, do you think you could ever forget Him? If Jesus healed by the Word of His Father, don’t you think you could trust Him with your life? Knowing what God’s vision for the world is, how interested in God does the world appear to have? Let me answer this for you. Generally speaking, the world can see no need for God! They are content with what they have, the very thought or idea of hell never enters their minds. When I was a sinner I was haunted by the thought of eternity in hell.
Deuteronomy 30:19 I have given you the choice between life and death. Now I call on heaven and earth to bear witness of the choice you make.
This is part of God’s vision for all mankind. Many are under the delusion that they believe fake news, “if God wants me in heaven He will put me there!” How about this one “I’m going to hell to party with my friends!” Far too many people are rejecting God’s vision and they substituted their fantasy in His place. During the days of Noah the people were eating and drinking until the flood came and took them all away. Noah was a preacher of righteousness, he warned all the people but they would not hear him. They could not use ignorance for an excuse because Noah warned them.
Acts 5:12,14 The Apostle Paul worked many miracles and wonders among the people. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes of men and women.
God is giving people a reason to believe in Him, He is healing all manner of sickness and disease. Jesus spoke the Word, His Father confirmed it, Jesus left no question regarding His integrity. God is not a man that He should lie. God says all men must choose their destiny, some folks think they can take a neutral position and get the best outcome. But God says we must choose between death and life, we must all choose because we have death abiding in us until we do.
John 10:10 The devil has come to kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
No one can know about the life the Lord has prepared for them because we are not capable of even dreaming that big. If you want to know it you have to live it and it’s far better than anything we could plan far ourselves. If you don’t accept God’s vision for your life you will oppose yourself and you will need to deal with the struggles you create.
All of the false “religions” hate the Christians because they serve a living God. Their gods came and spoke some ideas and then died, they don’t believe a god can live for eternity. When Jesus rose from the dead the soldiers that were guarding the tomb saw Him before they “fell out”. When they came to their senses they went and told the high priest.
Mathew 28:12-13 When the elders heard of the resurrection of Jesus, they paid the guards a large sum of money. They instructed the guards to lie and tell everyone that His disciples came and stole the body of Jesus.
Jesus had to be raised from the dead or He would be guilty of sin and be in hell forever. Before the death and resurrection of Christ, everything in the temple had to be done every year because the blood of animals cannot remove sin, it can only cover it. Jesus has become our High Priest, He had to be resurrected in order to go back to heaven and purify the heavenly utensils. After He used His blood to cleanse them, our sins would be blotted out, Jesus was the final sacrifice under the Abrahamic covenant. If He had not risen from the dead and gone into heaven, none of us would ever see heaven for ourselves.
Mark 16:11 When the women told the disciples that they saw Jesus after His resurrection, none of them believed their report.
Jesus had to appear to them and He got in their faces. How could they preach the resurrection if they themselves didn’t believe it? When He was with them He told them how He would be sacrificed and raised up on the third day. Despite watching Him perform all those miracles they still didn’t believe what He told them. Jesus had only one recourse, He had to keep speaking the Word till faith came. They didn’t completely believe until the Holy Spirit came to take over where Jesus left off.
John 20:29 Jesus said to Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed: blessed (empowered to prosper) are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
The apostles saw Jesus after He rose from the dead and were blessed, we have not seen Him but we are just as blessed as they were. They had the spirit of eye witness, we have the spirit of faith fed to us by the Holy Ghost. Every man who so desires can have the witness of the Holy Spirit if they choose to.
Romans 10:9, 17 If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Anybody can have faith, God gives every man his measure of faith. Some do little with it and others set out to develop it. Faith is like muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes. I have absolutely no doubt Jesus was raised from the dead, further more, I believe He will raise my body from the grave if He should tarry. Jesus is risen, Jesus is alive and died for all of us. Selah.
The Holy Spirit does not act apart from the Word of the Father, if there be no Word He has nothing to work with. As the healing revival after WWII began to wane, Kenneth Hagan received a Word from the Lord:
The healing revival as you know it will come to an end. But people will still be healed as they hear the Word of Faith.
It can be difficult to get a person healed by faith because they have a part to play in the matter. I am totally convinced that the Word of Faith movement will usher in the last days healing revival. A Messianic Jew by the name of Dick Reuben predicted the Brownsville outpouring that took place several years ago. The Lord told him that the next great move of the Spirit will be in the Word of Faith camp.
Brother Wigglesworth said this last days revival would be a wave of the gifts of the Spirit. The nine gifts of the Spirit come by faith, we believe for them, we do not earn them through good works. Most denominations do not understand the ministry of the Holy Spirit, they know nothing of His nine gifts. Most of them oppose the gifts, declaring that tongues are of the devil or all the gifts passed away with the last apostle. All of these ignorant statements are excuses for not having faith in God’s Word.
1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
If a man is ignorant concerning the gifts of the Spirit it’s because he chooses not to believe God’s Word. If God showed up and did some miraculous thing they wouldn’t even know who did it. The Catholics still believe that Mary the mother of Jesus stopped the Russian’s from dropping nuclear bombs on the United States. They believe Mary gave them the “rosary” to pray in order to stop Russia. To this day they are making “saints” out of people who supposedly worked miracles hundreds of years ago. I believe the Lord is “shaking” the Catholic church in order to gain a place among them. Kenneth Copeland once said “If you ever got a Catholic saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, he will be a staunch warrior for Christ.”
John 11:47-48 The chief priests and the Pharisees said: what shall we do? For the man Jesus does many miracles. If we let Him be all the people will believe on Him and the Romans will take away our positions.
Religion will lose its place if Jesus is permitted to be presented to the people. A church should be a place where true believers gather to honor and worship the Lord. In general, church has become a place where men are honored for perverting the Gospel. When men are in charge they will make no place for the Spirit of God, He is a drain on their agenda. A lot of folks enjoy having their flesh catered to where there is little demand on their time. We must make room for the Spirit, He will not force His way into our services.
You wouldn’t think that the subject of honesty need be addressed among Christians. Some believers have a strong desire to be seen in a vivid spiritual presentation. They want everyone to know that they walk very close to God and He speaks to them all the day long. I believe God speaks to His people but not to the degree they claim He does. They think that if they can project themselves at a high spiritual level they will have the respect of their fellow servants.
Galatians 6:3 If a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
What these folks don’t understand is that deceived people are easily identified. Anyone can talk a good game but if they don’t have the fruit they become the “fruit”. An honest believer may not have much fruit, but if they lay claim only to what they have, they have honor with the brethren. It’s like the boy who cried wolf, after a time no one believed him. People who deceive themselves live alone in their own little world, no one accepts their testimony.
1 Peter 2:12 Have your lifestyle honest among the gentiles: that when they call you an evildoer, they may by your good works shall glorify God in the day of their visitation.
Evidently the world is watching the Christians and evaluating our conduct. Are we representing Christ or are we trying to impress people with our spirituality? If the gentiles can identify a phony, how much more the enlightened. Jesus said we would be known by our fruit, well even the heathen understand that principle.
James 3:5 The tongue is a small member but boasts of great things.
There’s an old cliché, our tongue writes checks our body can’t cash. Our mouth gets us into more trouble then we can sometimes manage. As children of God we need to practice integrity, speak only what you know to be true. And don’t exaggerate because exaggerating is the same as lying, if you say you’re going to do something, then do it. Anybody can distinguish between a con and an honest man, deception will always be exposed.
All men are triune beings, we are a spirit, we possess a soul and we live in a body. So, we must give time to every part of our life, each part deserves a third. If we try to be in the spirit 24/7 we will become imbalanced. I heard a man of God say this, “A man can be so spiritual he is no earthly good”. If you work a secular job, they hired your body and soul, not your spirit. It is a major mistake to spiritualize everything among unspiritual people.
Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourselves more highly than you ought to think; but think soberly according to your measure of faith.
We are only what God says we are, we have no business projecting ourselves beyond who we really are. Just be yourself, you’re more than enough.
Here is the word given by Smith Wigglesworth to Lester Sumrall in 1939. Smith Wigglesworth to Lester Sumrall in 1939 (WWII ready to break out) with tears rolling down his face Smith cried saying, “ I probably won’t see you again now. My job is almost finished.” As he continued to pray he cried, “I see it, I see it!” Brother Sumrall asked, “What do you see, what do you see?” He said, “I see a healing revival coming right after World War II. It’ll be so easy to get people healed. I see it! I see it! I won’t be here for it, but you will be.” And there was a healing revival right after the war. He continued to prophecy, “I see another one, I see people of all different denominations being filled with the Holy Ghost.” That was the Charismatic revival. God raised up people during that era, like the Full Gospel Businessmen. Then Brother Wigglesworth continued, “I see another move of God. I see auditoriums full of people, coming with notebooks. There will be a wave of teaching on faith and healing.” We did experience that wave he saw, and we call it the Word of Faith movement. Then he prophesied, “After that, after the third wave,” he started sobbing. “I see the last day revival that’s going to usher in the precious fruit of the earth. It will be the greatest revival this world has ever seen! It’s going to be a wave of the gifts of the spirit. The ministry gifts will be flowing on this planet earth. I see hospitals being emptied out, and they will bring the sick to churches where they allow the Holy Ghost to move.”
Smith Wigglesworth was shown every move of God beginning after World War II. I was just a young Catholic boy when Oral Roberts was on television healing people. We didn’t have “healing” in the Catholic church, so we didn’t believe what God was doing through Brother Roberts and others. Before Oral died he said we haven't seen anything yet, “healing was coming back big time”.
At about this same time after WWII, R.W. Schambach was an associate of A.A. Allen. A mother brought her baby to Brother Allan and handed it to him. Brother Schambach said the baby had over twenty birth defects. The baby had no eyes, its bones were deformed so it could not walk or use its arms. The baby was a vegetable, deaf and mute. It survived by the grace of God. Brother Allen began to pray for the baby and Brother Schambach watched as little pools formed in the baby’s eye sockets, he witnessed the creation of eyes in the baby. Then he heard the baby’s bones cracking as its legs and arms straightened out. Finally Brother Allen set the baby down and it walked to its mother. At that point the Lord spoke to Brother Schambach and told him He was going to do it again, this is what He showed brother Wigglesworth.
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe…they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall conceive.
Every Spirit-filled believer who is of the faith of God knows this Scripture. But it doesn’t work for everyone! So, either we’re missing it or God’s missing it, I choose us. We must read the rest of the chapter or we will neglect to do what the Master requires of us.
Mark 16:20 The believers went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with and confirming the Word with signs following.
Go back and read Brother Wigglesworth’s prophecy, he saw people being taught the Word of faith. The last days revival will follow the preaching of faith, you cannot separate a move of the Spirit from the Word of God.
Some Christians and a lot of the heathens who believe not are asking, where is God? Well, I know exactly where He is, He abides wherever He is welcome. You cannot speak evil of our Lord and expect Him to cater to your needs.
John 14:23 If a man love Me, he will keep My words: My Father will love him, and we will come and make our abode with Him.
God is not at our beckon and call but rather we are at His beckon and call. We don’t want to be so arrogant as some of the folks in the Bible. They did not agree with God and His ways so they made their own gods out of stone, wood and earth. It is pretty convenient to have homemade gods because they will tell you exactly what you want to hear. When you begin your day no one knows what mood their god is in until you tell it! There is a problem with having a homemade god, he never leaves the place where you mount him.
Mark 16:19 After the Lord spoke to the believers, He was raptured back up to heaven and sat at the right hand of God.
We know where our God is, He sits on the throne of authority where He can oversee the entire world. Our God is not stuck on top of a mountain and subject to the elements, nor is He hidden in a dark room behind some curtains. Anyone who desires to can see our God and if they believe they can have a personal relationship with Him. Our Lord has just one command, that we play by His rules, so we must nail our lusts to the cross.
Jeremiah 2:6 Israel would not say, where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt?
The Lord that delivered Israel out of Egypt was where He always was, He was in the midst of the people who abandoned Him. The people who cry out to God the loudest are the same folks that hid themselves from Him. They feel that He is too hard to serve, let me propose this question, what is harder to serve? The God who loves you or the sin that wants to hold you in bondage? The demon spirit of confusion has a lot of ignorant people right where he wants them. The devil knows how easy it is for him to manipulate ignorant folks, he takes full advantage over these “push overs”.
Acts 5:12 By the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people and great fear came upon the people.
For those of us who believe, we live by the faith of the Son of God. But the signs and wonders that our faith produce are for those who are yet to believe. We don’t need God to manifest in order for us to believe in Him, but the world does, they don’t know where God is. If we can get them to listen to us, we can lead them to Jesus. When I was searching for the Lord I found Him, I was amazed at how close He was the whole time. He couldn’t have been very far away because the instant I asked Him to come into my life He was there. God will always be where our humility needs Him to be, we don’t command Him to come, we invite Him.
How does a sincere person find the right God and the right house? They take the Word of God and use it as the evidence of God’s presence. Let me make this very simple. I will give you a Scripture spoken by Jesus, if men believe it they will not be ashamed to proclaim it.
Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in My Name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak in new tongues. They shall take up serpents: and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover.
If anyone will present this Scripture to a church, they will quickly know if God is in that house or not. If the pastor tries to explain away this Scripture and try to tell you that the day of miracles have passed, then you would be wise to pass. If the pastor pleads guilty to believing the words of Christ you may have found a home to grow in.
No church is perfect but some can be so imperfect they are not worth your time or effort. None of us are called to go around and correct every ministry, but we are encouraged to check out the fruit. Every good tree produces good fruit and every bad tree kicks out bad fruit.
If a husband and wife cannot agree on something, compromise could be a good thing. If the two political parties come to an impasse, compromise can become the only solution. But when it comes to keeping God’s Word, compromise can become a sin.
Malachi 3:13-14 Your words have been stout against Me, saith the Lord. You have said that it is vain to serve the Lord.
To know God’s will but choose another course is the epitome of compromise. God will bless those who do His will, not those who speak it but do nothing with it. Folks who compromise are not yet truly committed to serving their Lord. I have no judgements against those who have become lukewarm, nor against the carnal Christian. But I have a real problem with those who are out to convert the brethren to their pernisious ways. No matter what your religious persuasion is, we all want to be in the majority. We always tend to feel safer if we are the largest crowd, after all, how could so many people be in error?
Romans 16:17 I exhort you brothers, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them.
The Lord is not inviting us to enter into strife with one another, He just tells us to be cautious around compromisers. In order to have a move of the Spirit we all must be dedicated to God’s will. How can two men walk together except they be in agreement? The Lord is advocating division in order to protect and ensure His presence in the church. I want to believe that when compromisers see what they are missing out on, they will repent.
Tolerance is the first step to conformity.
Opposition can be a blessing in disguise if a wise man will have the courage to enquire why folks oppose their point of view. When a point of dissention is presented and discussed, then the two parties will know where they stand. When two different folks cannot agree with one another they will be limited in their relationship. The strength of every group is dependent on the number of members who can agree with one another. The devil knows that when folks are in agreement he has more than he can handle. The devil is the spirit of division, he loves to sow the seeds of discord.
Ephesians 4:3 Endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
If every Christian believed God’s Word and agreed with Him, we would all be in unity. Over the years many influential men have accepted a different gospel and they formed a “denomination”. If what these men believed was true they would all be in agreement, but they all have their own view of God’s Word. Every denomination has their own view of what God has recorded and they are adamant about what they hold to. I always try to find out what a man believes and look for a place where we can agree. I will never compromise the Word of our Lord for the sake of being in agreement with a man.
It’s difficult to accept but the church at large has become a secular organization. Some perform same sex marriages and some pastors are committed homosexuals. They act like their lifestyle is just as normal as the marriage between a man and a woman.
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination (disgusting).
I do not understand how “Christians” justify the things God calls sin. I recently read where the pastor of a large denomination would perform same-sex marriages but he got under conviction of the Bible. He “came out” and repented and would no longer compromise the Word of God. The people of his church began to demonstrate on the grounds of the church in defense of the sodomites. Now how can God honor a church that does not honor Him or His Word?
1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the Gospel, even so we speak: not as pleasing men but God, which tries our hearts.
When a man reads and believes God’s Word it is to please Him and no one else. The Word of God is truth, the highest form of reality, it can be very harsh on the flesh and lusts of men. In an attempt to protect the “feelings” of people, preachers have diluted the Word and relieved borderline Christians of their responsibilities. I for one do not want to stand before God on judgement day and discover that everything I did was a big waste of time.
1 Corinthians 9:27 I keep my flesh under and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
I greatly fear for the number of preachers that ministered all their lives, but on account of compromise they have nothing profitable to be rewarded of! We must all face these questions: is God welcome in our church? Do we need God? I believe everyone would answer yes to these questions. But how many of them are sincere? We do not want God to just take a seat in the pew, we need Him to be the Lord and Master of everything we do. If He is invited He will come, He inhabits the praise of His people. Some of our churches are so full of programs, we can’t seem to fit God in anywhere.
Mathew 16: 18B … and upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Jesus built His church on the rock of revelation of His identity, it was not founded on the man Peter. Now, if Jesus built his church on Himself then shouldn’t He be active in His own house? When men boot Jesus and take His place they are called claim jumpers or trespassers. They will misrepresent the original claim and deceive many who think they are doing the right thing. The church needs God, I pray the church does the right thing.
Prayer by definition is when God’s people talk to Him according to His Word, which is His will. We cannot make up our own prayers because they may not be the will of God. When we pray authorized prayers they will move us into the presence of God.
Revelation 1:10 It was Sunday and I was in the spirit praying, and I heard a loud voice.
John was on the island of Patmos praying in the Spirit to our Lord. He prayed his way into the presence of the Lord and the Lord gave him revelation that became the last book in the Bible. When we take the Word of God praying in faith we will put ourselves into His presence. We will not always “feel” Him but we are there, this is when He will manifest as peace or speak something to you. When we pray God’s Word He will respond to us with His Word because His Word is His will. If the devil spoke God’s Word to us we would know who spoke because he has no love within him.
Psalm 22:3 You are holy O Lord who inhabits the praises of His people.
So, prayer will move us into the presence of God, praise will move God into our presence. Perhaps we would not need to pray so long to get into His presence, if we would begin with praise. If you can’t think of a reason to praise Him, let me give you one, the cross. God does not have to do one more thing for me, taking my place on the cross was an eternal act of love. I have begun to praise Him and will continue throughout all of eternity. One very uninformed man said:
I would rather reign in hell than serve in heaven!
This poor fool has no idea of what he is setting himself up for. I was a sinner destined for hell because the wages of sin is death, but God forgave me, cleansed me and wrote my name in the book of life. I would rather serve in heaven than burn in hell for all eternity. Praise the Lord, Selah.
Psalm 100:4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His Name.
Bless - congratulate Him, thank Him, salute Him, adore Him, praise.
Years ago I was watching Mayberry RFD on the TV and Andy Griffin’s character said something to his girlfriend I have never forgotten. “I didn’t come calling with a hand full of nothing and a mouth full of gimmee.” I wonder how many people talk to God only when they want something? God would like to know how we feel about Him occasionally, I don’t believe He ever gets tired of being praised and blessed. If we are wise we will spend our whole day thanking and praising Him, then when we need to pray the table is set.
Philippians 2:10 That at the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow.
When it comes to Jesus the devil must bow he has no choice, but we get to bow we have the choice, this is what makes praise genuine. The Lord does not want to command us to praise, He desires that we choose to worship Him. So, let’s change the title, instead of Prayer and Praise let’s make it Praise and Prayer.

Lord, Your love abides in me, I can love people I don't even like.
If I can bless those who hate me, how much more for those who love me.
With Your love abiding within me, I know You will bless me with all things.
I now can love like You love and I can give like You give.
