the kingdom come

In the disciples prayer the Lord instructed them to pray His kingdom would come.  What is this kingdom to come?  A kingdom is all the territory or realm of a king.  God did not have a place in the earth until Jesus arose from the dead and spoiled the devil.  We live in this world but we are not part of it, we have been translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son.  The devil and sinners have no place in God’s kingdom, one must be born-again into it.

Colossians 1:13 We have been delivered from the power of darkness, and we have been carried into the kingdom of the Son.

In man’s kingdom you have the power man gives you, but in God’s kingdom we have supernatural power from God Himself.  In God’s kingdom we have eternal life, love, healing, restoration, prosperity and power over every plot of the devil.  Christians are a misunderstood bunch because they don’t share the fears of the world.  The world has no hope because no one secured any for anyone, the world lives day by day for whatever comes.  All I know about tomorrow is that the kingdom has blessings laid up in store for me.

Ephesians 2:8 We are saved by grace through faith; it is the gift of God, we cannot gain this through works, we cannot earn this.

The world cannot understand this kind of love, their perception of love must be performance based.  If man could earn a place in heaven, there would have been no reason for Jesus to die on the cross.  When God wanted something He sowed a seed.  Adam was God’s seed, God’s seed was the breath of life that He blew into the dust of the earth.  Adam became a speaking spirit, a son of God, but Adam changed fathers because he did not obey.  God was determined to have a family so He sent Jesus, the Seed of Life.  God had a seed and God had a purpose.  Now He has many sons.  More than can be numbered.

Mark 4:26 So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should put seed into the ground.

God’s kingdom is overflowing with blessings.  All of these blessings are actually the harvest from the seed the occupants sow.  God gives seed to sowers and this seed is spiritual or supernatural.  It can only be sown into the kingdom of God.  God may direct you to give a seed to a church, an individual, or a specific group.  If He directs you to give, you will be sowing into the kingdom of God.  When you choose to live this way He will give you the seed you need to give.  The world cannot fathom such nonsense because their system makes no allowance for God’s way of doing things.

Luke 12: 32 Fear not little flocks for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Don’t share the fear the world operates in, God has a much better system just for His sons.  There is no lack in His kingdom and no shortage of seed to sow for a harvest.  The world gives to improve its advantage, the believer gives to improve the advantage of others.  In so doing, the giver opens the windows of the kingdom and praises the Lord for what comes out.

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
