I always knew I could talk to God, but only in a limited conversation, I was taught that God had secrets He wouldn’t share.  I believe the popular phrase God moves in mysterious ways was the basis for a limited dialogue with Him.  So when God’s anointed teachers begin to tell us that we must be led of the Spirit, we question their doctrine.  Many of the religious folk have been indoctrinated to the point where they will not hear anything but what they began with.  Israel was waiting for the birth of the Messiah to come and set them free, when He came they struggled to accept what He taught them.  Jesus taught them from the books of the Old Testament, but they could not comprehend it.

Psalm 61:2 Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

God has been leading men from the days of Noah. Who builds a boat on dry land that is four-hundred and fifty feet long?  The Lord led Noah to build this boat and not one living soul, other than his family, believed in what he was doing.  The Holy Spirit led Moses and Israel out of Egypt, the people following Moses didn’t even believe it was the right thing to do.  They wanted to return to Egypt and be buried next to their ancestors.  Peter and John were led to pray for a lame man and get him healed, after their wonderful miracle they were arrested by the church leadership.

Acts 4:17 So that these miracles spread no further, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to any man in Jesus Name.

If a Christian makes the decision to be led of the Spirit they had better be prepared for opposition from the people around them.  In the beginning the Lord led me to build this church debt free. You would be amazed at how much opposition I faced over this.  Several people quit the church because they didn’t agree with the plan the Lord gave me.  I am so glad I ignored men and obeyed God. We would have lost everything if I would have borrowed money!  I have not been perfect in hearing and obeying the Lord.  I have missed it on occasion. But, the Lord always “fixed” the problem because of the integrity of my heart.

Acts 21:13 And Paul said, why do you weep and break my heart?  For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the Name of our Lord Jesus.

The Holy Spirit was leading Paul to go to Jerusalem and told him he would be arrested.  His fellow servants tried to talk him out of going and obeying the Lord!  Often times the people closest to you are the ones who oppose you the most.  These are not bad people, they just don’t hear what you have heard so they won’t support you.  People want to quickly wade into an issue and fix it, I commend them for their willingness to want to help, but God always has a due season none of us will see if we are not patient.  The Lord works on an entirely different schedule than we do and He won’t change it for us.  When a person indicates to me they are praying to be led of the Spirit, I pray for them in agreement and offer no direction for them.  We must trust the Spirit in every person.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
