The whole world operates in unison depending on what they say and agree to. A man is known by his words, his word is his bond, his obligation.
James 3:5 The tongue is a small member, but it boasts great things.
The words our tongue utters will have a profound impact on our life one way or another. Our words or our confession originate with thoughts. God is more than willing to share His thoughts with us, but so is the devil.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
If God says He knows what He thinks about us and our life, then He is willing to share those thoughts with us. We were created to hear God’s thoughts and the devil always emulates our Lord. Whatever we hear God think, it will always have an element of His peace associated with it. When we hear the devil’s thoughts they will always have an element of fear attached to them. If we accept and believe what we hear we will speak it out. If it’s from the Lord He will confirm it with signs and wonders. If we speak out the devil’s thoughts we will have failure and destruction. The Holy Spirit speaks very little but His little translates into volumes. If we repeat everything the devil thinks we will have what we call a “big mouth”. A mouth full of opposition that we speak to our own demise.
Psalm 141:3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth, hold the key to my lips.
Evidently David needed help to control what was coming out of his mouth. If we could always just speak the right things we wouldn’t need the Lord to help. We are not near as good as we give ourselves credit for, we need help and we must be willing to ask. Kenneth Copeland has always said; if you plan to live by faith then you must practice the vocabulary of silence. We all have a tendency to repeat the clichés of the world, they are clever but destructive.
Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed (restored) by the Word of God.
God has given us the power to frame our own world with His Word. What would you think of a man who set out to build a house. One day he would begin to frame it and the next day he would tear it down and start over. Now if the man would do this every day, would the house ever be built? If we go through the day confessing God’s Word and simultaneously confess the curse of this world we will not have what God says we could have. We are no smarter than the man building and tearing down what he was building.
The world has taught us to speak its language, we didn’t just begin to speak it. Now, God wants to teach us to talk like He does, it’s a whole new language with a whole lot better results.
I want to sow and reap a harvest, but what about the thief?
He will try to steal my seed,
so I must sow in faith.
Jesus said He would give me abundance, and He will rebuke the devourer for me.
I must not walk by my sight,
I walk by what Jesus can see for me.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
