got faith?

Every born-again Christian has faith, we are saved by grace through faith.

Romans 12:3 God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

In this text we come to understand that all the folks in the church at Rome were given the same amount of faith, but as time went on some men began to have more faith than others!  Does God have favorites?  Is He a respector of persons?  No!  Faith is like a muscle, the more you work it, the bigger and stronger it becomes.  Some believers are diligent about developing their faith while others are content with what they have.  God said that if we will exercise our faith we can have whatsoever we say.  A lot of Christians are content with the status quo, they are not interested in exerting themselves in pursuit of the promises of God.

Luke 17:6 If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say unto this tree, be plucked up and it would obey you.

A mustard seed is very small, however, Jesus is telling us that little faith can produce great results.  The Roman Centurion said to Jesus, speak the Word only and my servant shall be healed.  Jesus said this man had great faith, more than any of the Jews Jesus was sent to.  So, faith is simply believing what the Lord has said.  The more one develops their faith, the easier it becomes for a man to believe God’s Word.  We know that faith comes by hearing.  What comes from hearing the doctrine of the world?  Doubt, unbelief, fear and hopelessness.  The world creates our problems and has no solution for overcoming them.  The world is always in a constant state of chaos because it has no solution to the problem it creates for itself.

John 16:33 In Me you shall have peace, in the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

How did Jesus overcome the world?  He spoke His Word because His Word is a higher law than what the world is speaking.  If a Christian will speak the Word he can rise above the ways of the world.  Oftentimes the believers that live by faith are chided by those who don’t.  Living by faith is not the mainstream way of life for most Christians!  The reason there is a lack of faith in the church is because it’s not taught from the pulpit.  In the church I grew up in we had a weekly routine, you went and sang a duet, listened to a sermonette and ran out and had a cigarette.  If there was any teaching on faith I certainly never heard it, perhaps it was because I usually fell asleep.

Galatians 3:11 The just shall live by faith.

All believers are called to live by the faith of the sons of God, this is not an option.  The man who lives by faith will always have hope, they always expect the best from every situation.  The believer who has yet to develop their faith always seem to have an element of despair and sorrow.  If growing your faith is not fun and rewarding you’re doing it all wrong.  Growing in faith is a revelation of Jesus, a blessed time of discovery and an impartation of the God kind of peace.  Got faith?  Yes you do, don’t neglect to develop it to the max.

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
